So I gotta tell you about this rude lady yesterday. It's kinda still bothering me.

I was out to lunch with my MIL and she was feeding Henry his bottle. This totally random lady comes up to me and asks how old he is. I figured she thought he was cute or knew someone with a baby the same age and wanted to just be friendly. I told her and she says "you know I think it's just sad that there are moms like you that put themselves before their baby. If you don't breastfeed, then your baby will never be healthy enough."

I was completely shocked. I would have sworn at her but there were a few kids sitting at the nearby table. I said, "excuse me, but do I know you? You have no idea what I've been thru with my son and I suggest you stop passing judgment."

I know I shouldn't have even given her another thought but how could I not? I STILL feel depressed sometimes that I couldn't BF him. And this woman makes me feel like utter poo. I don't know if anyone remembers, but I tried and tired and he wouldn't latch on. And I pumped hour after after, for 6 weeks straight, getting like 2oz A DAY. I felt I had no other choice but to FF.

Some people just really suck. Being a mom is hard enough.

Morgan first off you are an awesome mommy! Even if you never tried to BF I wouldn't think any less of you as a mother! You are doing everything you can for your baby who by the way is adorable, smart and healthy. That lady had a giant stick up her butt and she can go suck it! ((HUGS))

I think I have made my stance clear on anyone that gives formula feeding moms a hard time - they can go suck it. You are a great mom, and formula is GREAT food for a baby. I wish I could punch that woman in the face.

I COMPLETELY agree with angela!
she should def be sucking on said stick!

you're a great mom and honestly it was none of that woman's business. try to forget about it because nothing you could have said or done would ever have made her into less of a bee with an itch. its so unfortunate that there are people out there who are THAT rude.

Why do some moms do that? Well, I'm assuming she's a mom.

It sickens me that there are women who give others such a hard time. It's so catty. If she knew them she probably would have insulted my delivery choices as well.

I would have totally told her to STFU and mind her own business, kids or no kids around! You should be proud of yourself for not being rude back! You're an awesome momma! BTW, Gem was FF and she's super smart and healthy and BIG for her age (as in tall, not fat). Formula is a great alternative and it's NOT like it's rat poison! Keep your chin up girly!

It amazes me that some women have the nerve to say things like that. She should have kept it to herself. For all she knew it was pumped breastmilk.

^^ Seriously, it could have been pumped milk. That came to my mind too!

You're an AMAZING mother! I got that from one of my clients when I was pregnant with Taylor and I was cutting her hair. I was totally uninformed about BF and chose to FF right off the bat. She told me she couldn't believe I didn't want to do what was best for my baby and how wrong I was. My 3 siblings and I were ALL FF and we're all perfect fine, Taylor's in perfect health, and Rylie been on formula since she was 5 months and she's doing great too. I hate how people feel they have to give their 2 cents worth, so annoying! I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Just know you're an awesome mom regardless of what anyone else says!

She's a jerk and you're a wonderful mother! I admire the restraint you kept because of the kids around. I probably would have let her have it.

All I can say is WOW! Who has the nerve to walk up to a stranger and say something like that?!?!? Crazy lady! It's such a shame, because she really doesn't have any clue how hard you tried. Try to put psycho woman out of your head.

I know how you feel -- I pumped for a bit and was pumping with ONE breast (trauma to one of my nipples had it producing only 1/4th what the other was) but poor J.J was SO unhappy on my milk, screaming with stomach pains and constipation.

He never latched on either. Screamed bloody murder every time we (me and the LC) tried.

If a person came up to me and said that, they would be lucky to walk 2 feet from me without being slapped

It's so NONE of her business to even begin with and she of course has no clue. I'm proud of you for trying as hard as you did to BF. Henry is a happy and thriving baby so just ignore the haters.

Don't let it worry you for a second, you are a wonderful mother who has a very healthy and happy little boy. It was NONE of her business to begin with. I'm so angry for you. I formula feed and I don't think it makes me any less of a mom than any mother who breastfeeds. We are feeding our children the best way we can (or the way we think is best, whichever the case may be) and the fact that they are being fed is what counts.

I would have asked her if SHE was breastfed...because if she was, it sure didn't do anything to make her any less of a ******* idiot!

I don't think those that FF are any "less" of a mother. I'm sorry she insulted you like that.

I applaud your restraint, given your typical mama bear stance! As everyone has said and as I told you, she is a *******. All that matters it that Henry is BEING FED adequately.
