Lately I've been having episodes where my heart begins to race extremely fast and I start feeling dizzy and kind of blacking out (not fully just seeing like spots of black). Its happened a few times and in the last time my arms got really numb... I assumed it might of been BP related. A few nights ago I was laying down on my partners lap watching a movie and my hands started to itch really bad and swell (its not hot here or anything). Not hugely but enough to be noticeable and uncomfortable.

Also in the past few weeks I've noticed then when I am outside or in natural light I see a black spot in one of my eyes. If I focus on it it sort of stays there but if i move my eye slightly it'll move with it. Its not really a spot kind of like a oval. I've also been having migraines that are so bad that I've been puking and blacking out.

the heart racing happens almost anywhere from the aisle in a supermarket to my couch in my living room. It lasts for around 10 or so minutes.

All I drink is water really I go through probably 6-7 250ml bottles of water a day

I googled all of this and from what I've read all these symptoms apart can be normal pregnancy things but together can mean early signs of Toxemia. I'm only 17 weeks, this is my 3rd pregnancy, I'm not overweight and as far as I am aware nobody in our family has had Toxemia before so really I'm in the lowest group of those in risk of getting it.

I haven't seen my doctor for about 8 weeks, Normally its every 4 weeks but it was over the Christmas/New Years break and then he was away. But I see him in the morning thank god.

But yeah anyone else had anything like this before?

I've had an occasional dizzy spell...that is pretty normal for pregnancy, especially second trimester. But having multiple episodes of your heart racing, with swelling, and seeing spots does not sound normal (at least in the average person, could be fine in your case). If it stays somewhat infrequent I would bring it up at your next appointment. However, if this becomes a very regular thing I would get in sooner to talk about it. It could be your heart is having a more challenging time adjusting to the increased blood volume and demand. Maybe try to take your BP at home or when in the grocery store. Get plenty of fluids and make sure to eat regularly. Sometimes those things can help with the dizziness.

It doesn't sound like pre-e to me yet...plus under 20 weeks they usually will call it chronic hypertension if that is what is going on. Pre-eclampsia (toxemia) can happen to anyone. The 'risk factors' for it are not very strong. I've known many young, normal weight, active women who ended up getting it.

I actually ended up being induced because I kept having heart palpitations (Would race up to like 130 when i was resting for no reason), dizzy spells, shortness of breath, and blackouts. I had to see a cardiologist who told me they found Mitral Valve Prolapse and Tricuspid valve regurgitation. From what I was told my body was not used to being 160+ pounds ever, so my heart was being stressed to the max. The cardiologist suggested I be induced, so I was at like 39w, 3days.

Bring it up to your doctor and dont take "its normal" for an answer. I heard "its normal" for months before they finally did something about it.

I definitely agree that it doesn't sound normal. A dizzy spell here and there is nothing to worry about, but what you are describing is much more than just a dizzy spell. I'm sorry I'm no more help than that!

I never had the dizzy spells but I've experienced the increase in heart rate. It doesn't happen often but I did have it before pregnancy, during and I still get it occasionally.

I experienced exactly what you are describing for both of my pregnancies. I was placed on a heart monitor both times and was diagnosed with non-sustained ventricular tachycardia. The symptoms were much worse with my first pregnancy than they were with my second, though I gained significantly more weight with the first pregnancy and was told that alone can have a huge impact.

Basically I was just told to take it easy, don't stand up or sit up quickly and be sure to stay hydrated and fed. My other issue is that I had borderline gestational diabetes as well and the low blood pressure and NVST along with the blood sugar issues made me suffer from terrible migraines, vision issues, and fainting spells if I didn't take proper care of myself.
