Verdict? Teething doesn't cause this, does it? I gave him some turkey in December, he hasn't had solids since. He is having more frequent poopy diapers too. Maybe he is fighting a virus? No temp and otherwise he seems fine.

Does sound like teething ... I know its gross but when Chloe is teething .. and that seems to be every week She suffers with coughs and colds so poor thing gets over one and a week later another tooth is coming and shes got a cold again !!!
Her poops are also all sorts of coulrs from green, brown to mustad colour ... all with gunk in .. like EWCM (soz only thing could think of it would look like)

Could definitely be from teething or fighting off a cold. As long as he seems like his normal self, isn't running a fever, and doesn't cry when he passes a bowel movement, I wouldn't worry much.

You know what I worry about? He hasn't gained any weight from 6 months to 7 months. Maybe he gained 1/2 pound, but he seems to have lost it?? I don't know if he has gotten taller either but I will check that. I know they get more active and such so burn off calories, but I thought it was okay to kind of be slow on giving the solids everyday at this age. I guess not? Maybe he should get solids everyday now and stop delaying it? But I thought BM had more calories in it. Agh, I dunno. I am worried.

I would see if it passes, as long as he acts normal and there is no fever I wouldn't worry about it.

As for the weight gain, perhaps you should offer solids? I'm curious why he isn't on solids either. Is he not interested? They sure can be picky things at times!

He is just sorta interested, and his doctor said that up to 7 months it is okay to just offer it occasionally, but that at this point now (since he just turned 7 months), I should start to make it a regular part of his diet. I just have not gotten around to it yet - I was going to tonight. And he has been offered food every couple of days - both purred and table food - but he has not really eaten any of it since the turkey (and that was only a tiny bit). He just plays with it! I didn't want to "push" it more though until 7 months, to get him more used to the idea. Hopefully tonight will go well, because after the last time I offered solids and he didn't eat it I wanted to take a complete solids break until 7 months. That was about a week ago.

The slower weight gain is very normal at this age. Kirsty's gain has been very very slow since around 7 months. Because they are learning new physical things like rolling, army & 4 point crawling etc.

As for food. If he is interested, I would be offering, but that's my personal feeling. I have read that the longer it is delayed, the more difficult it can be to get them to be open to eating food... whether true or not, I'm unsure as I have no personal experience in that!

My nephew was that way, Michelle. He is now 13 months and SO uninterested in solids. He pretty much has skipped solids and gone to table food, he hated anything my sis tried to give him and wouldnt eat it! He either wanted a bottle, or what my sis was eating! She delayed solids as long as she could though, as well. I dont think she started until around 7.5 months. So I would say what Fi has heard rings true in my sisters case, she put it off longer and he became so much more uninterested.

Cambria had that a few times. They said it's a side affect of teething. And Cambria would not TOUCH solid's till she was 1. She still to this day is NOT a good eater. She has gained 1 1/2 Lb's in 6 months and is WAY under her average height ( Jack's probably taller then her!! ) for her age. My Peid is great about it though saying she's gonna be more of a Petite girl taking after me. It Is possiable that Jack may take some of your characteristic's and be Petite as well. I know your just as short as me right And I dont mean he'll be short for a Boy I just mean maybe he's gonna be a slow gainer of weight..It's possiable.

Yeah I am a shorty! Even Angela is taller then me! lol

Both DH and I have high metabolisms. Well, except for my pcos. But growing up I would eat more then my dad, and yet wouldn't gain weight. DH has to eat an insane amount of calories to gain weight even now. I think Jack is on the taller side, but the thinness may be a family trait. He looks good though, right? In some of those pics I posted I daresay he looks pleasantly plump

I am obsessed with poop. Matthew gets lots of mucus in his poo when I eat something that bothers his tummy but I know that's probably not your problem. I think it could be teething or fighting off a virus as long as it does last for weeks, kwim?
As for solids, I think he's still fine to get his nutrition from BM. I wouldn't "force it on him" but that's just me. I might gently nudge though. I gave Matthew a hunk of banana to gnaw on today.
