I put a pack n play on my registry that comes with the bassinet and the sleeper part. I have a bassinet that comes with a bassinet stand and can be pulled out from it. I was deciding on whether or not to get an activity mat or the pack n play. I can still put toys in the pack n play with her. I also plan to get this around the world activity station (I believe someone on this board has one and I love the reviews of it) that I'm hoping she'll love once she gets big enough (around 3 or 4 months or so).

Here's the pack n play:

Here's the activity mat:

Here's the activity station:

I dont really know what she's going to like so I'm debating on whether or not to get the activity mat or to get the pack n play or both.

WWYD? Any suggestions?

I get them all. If I had to pick one not to get I'd say the play mat

I am for sure getting a pack n play because we plan to have the baby sleep in that in our room for the first 6 weeks or so then it will be used as a playpen.. I haven't really thought much about an activity mat or the activity station yet.. I can see the baby getting lots of use out of all of them so I would atleast put them on your registry and see if you get them

I had a similar pack and play and its done its job well. We moved JJ into his own room 2 weeks ago finally. Hes not big into playing in it, he rather play on the floor. We never used the changing part much.

We used the activity mat a bit, but JJ preferred his exasaucer and his walker over anything.

my kids hated the playmats...always confused them and was a bit too stimulating...maybe I just didnt give them a chance. I say grab the PNP and the activity table. youll want the PNP for more than just play time

He seemed a little over whelmed as well....but then his favorite toy is a mirror, paper bag or the newspaper (tear paper).

My pack n play (by Chicco) is very similar and worked wonderfully. I also had an activity mat which Amara enjoyed. I didn't do the activity station.

I would get all 3...

I use my pnp ALL day everyday. Mine had a bassinet part (just took that out cuz Ken's too bigg for it) I only used that for the 1st week when she would sleep in it. Even for naps shes ALWAYS been in her crib. But my pnp has a changing part and during the day thats what I change her on so I use it 10+ times easily!!

Ken LOVESSSSS her play mat. She has one EXACTLY like that, and it is EASILY her favorite thing. Shes constantly under there bc she does NOT want to be held. Im not even kidding you the girl is OOBER independent and LOVES to be with her "guys" (the little toys that hang) as we call them. She actually talks to them more than us. We think cuz they dont respond and she actually gets LOUD with them!

And that activity stands looks like sooooo much fun! Ken has an exersaucer thats what shes in now sometimes but shes not really really into it yet, but Im thinking its around the same thing..

I had that activity station thing and sold it for $50 a few weeks ago!

To me the pack n play and floor matt are so different. Your baby will only use the floor matt thing for a couple months. The pack n play will last longer and can be used for more than one thing. I have both.. play matt was fun for him for a couple months.. pack n play came in handy at times when I wanted to shower or put him some where safe. I could have done without it though..

Thanks ladies for sharing! I know if I put the activity mat up there that people will get it b/c its not expensive. But it better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it I guess.

And WOWSERS Resi! Its like $30 at Target!

I play on getting a pack n play because I'll be able to use it for a very long time. I haven't decided about the others yet but if you were deciding between the other two (which I know you're not but I'm just saying hypothetically) I would get the activity station. You could get toys similar to the activity mat for a lot less OR you could just put them all on your registry and see if anyone gets them for you then go from there.

Activity mats I don't think are needed. They aren't a safe place to put baby and you can throw a blanket down and some toys and it would entertain baby just as well! I would for sure go with the PnP. It's a safe and secure place to put baby and will last a long time. Curtis for the longest time used it as a crib/bed at the in laws!
