I'm sorry that's how people are acting, that's just plain rude and disrespectful. Do you think it might be because your due date still seems far away and you don't look pregnant? I know sometimes it's not that people aren't excited, it's just that it seems like something so far distant in the future and there isn't a physical reminder (round belly) to remind them.

We ARE EXCITED! Hence you needing to get the posting here and tell us all about you and your pregnancy, including pictures (both belly and u/s).
Sorry no on IRL is excited. Maybe its a kind of expected thing (like they expected you to be pregnant). Are there a lot of children in both you and DH's family? I bet once your belly pops, the excitement will come.

Don't let anyone ruin this for you. Being pregnant is the most special thing in the world and YOU should enjoy it no matter what..it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks because its YOUR baby. So be happy and excited, and we're all happy and excited with you! Come here and talk about him/her as much as you want!!

Please don't let anyone rain on your parade. I know it's got to be hard when no one shares in the excitement with you but you forget about them and fantasize about your baby and get all excited to meet him/her. And we here are really excited for you so if it helps, come here and create a thousand posts and we'll be right there with you.

I recall the old battleaxe gossip queen who sat next to me in my job, she b*tched about me to another work colleague, moaning that I talked too much about my baby during my pregnancy. I was so mad at her because I am not exaggerating when I say EVERYONE in our department (at least 60-70 staff), knew EVERYTHING about her entire family and friends. Honestly, I'm surprised she stopped to breathe at times. So she had a darn cheek to moan about me.
I stopped telling her all my exciting updates and it put her nose out of joint, she would ask me stuff about my app's and I'd simply say "it went fine, thanks".
Anyway, I'm pleased for you and you need to update us on how you're feeling etc!!!

I'm sorry people around you aren't more excited. But we are! And I'm sure people will get more and more excited as the pregnancy goes along.

I'm sure it is more concern than anything. When I was pregnant with Gemma my entire family basically ignored me. They were never excited, I didn't get a baby shower, no one rubbed my belly or called to check on me every few days. I was so sure that no one was going to love my baby but me. But once she was born it was totally different! They loved her with all their hearts! They were just worried about me being young and not ready and didn't know how to express it.
At least you have Guy and us! It's okay to feel down that your family isn't over the moon but don't fret too much. Enjoy every moment because when it's over you will start to forget it way too fast! You're going to miss every miserable moment from gas to aches and pains to kicks in the ribs! I wish I had worried less and enjoyed more with Gemma. Don't be a casualty of your familys' attitude. Be happy and update us more here! I don't think you realize how much I think about you! I'm sure Aimee does too! We're all in this together! I just wish we lived closer so that we could actually hang out and talk baby stuff! (((((HUGS)))))

I was gonna say the same thing someone else mentioned...maybe its because it still doesnt seem real to people since so your due date is so far away and your not showing yet?! That is rude though! I hope they start showing more excitement! This is the most exciting time in your life!!!!!!!!! We are VERY EXCITED for you!!!!!!!!

Thanks girls. Its just weird because this the first grandkid on both sides. Guy and I only have one brother each, who are both younger than us. My family is not upset about it and are excited about it but if I bring it up they sort of blow it off. His family is upset and I keep telling myself not to care because we don't really see them or get along but they act like we are destitute and can't pay our bills. We just did our taxes and we made a pretty good sum of money. We don't spend of frivolous things. We have $6000 in savings and we've never asked them for a single thing in the 3 1/2 years we've lived together. Its getting to me. They act like we are so irresponsible but we both hold full time jobs, pay all our own bills, and have way more in our savings account than they do. We have three dogs and everyone things we are crazy but even though we've had two dog emergencies we've never asked for money and have paid them both off before incurring any debt. We do have a little bit of debt but are going to pay it off with our tax return. Everyone at work basically said if I got pregnant and I worked at Starbucks I wouldn't tell anyone. I realize it's not the greatest job but with the economy like it is I'm just happy to have one, to be honest and its extra income. We could survive on Guy's income. It's spending money and savings money. Its so frustrating. Sorry, vent over....
