The shoes we use for Kieran are having a clearance sale. They are similar to Robeez, soft soled leather. They are clearancing toddler shoes(hardsoled) for $19.95 and baby shoes (soft soled) for $7.95. We have a pair for Kieran and I just ordered a pair for her and my nephew and with taxes it came to $21.45 so excited. Just wanted to share incase anyone wants some

(scroll to the bottom where it says clearance)

Thanks Justine. And Krista I love babystealss I think I'm their best customer I order s much. Love baby legs and robeez.

I'm not sure what to do about shoes. Don't mean to thread hijack but Alexa is close to walking. Pulls self up and walks along the couch a little. And last few days let's go and stands for like 10 secs and then just sits. I want to get some hard soled shoes cuz maybe that'll help her walk but she curls her toes all the time and it's hard to get any shoes that aren't soft soled and she does not like to walk in them. So mostly she is barefoot or with socks on. And her feet are so little. A 6-12 mon robeez is too big and a size 3 is too big. She's like a 2.5. Any thoughts or advice from moms with walking babes. Tia. And sorry didn't mean to post this here but i know I won't start a new thread.

Because of Seamus' delays he didn't start walking till about 16mo so his feet were big enough then for most hard soled ones. Kieran has the same problem the 6-12mo are too big but I bought that size to grow into, I figure she'll be walking around her birthday(at this rate looks like she'll skip crawling ) and it will be nice enough(warm wise) that she can still wear the soft soled ones, she wont be walking in rocks or on the street mainly in the house and such so I dont see it as an issue. Have you checked walmart? I know the other day in the normal shoe section I saw they had hard soled baby shoes that were from size 2 and up, I also know name brands like Nike sell hardsoled baby shoes(not sure where to get them) and I'd think Target may have some smaller too.

I'd stick to soft soled shoes, socks, and barefeet for as long as possible. Dustin is a fantastic walker, running almost! But he has a harder time in hard soled shoes. I think they learn best in something that fits their foot more natural.

With that said. Justine is right! There are lots of styles at Walmart, as well as payless. Lots of little hard soled shoes I think.

Good luck

I think they recommened soft soled shoes to learn to walk in. But whenever Matthew stands up (with us holding his arms or in exersaucer) he stands on his tip toes! His pedi checked his ankle flexibility and said it was fine and he may just grow out of doing that or else we may have to put hard soled shoes on his to force him to go flat footed instead of on his toes.
So I don't know if I should buy him any soft soled shoes even though those are cute and cheap and I'd like to. I'm also confused by their size chart. I think? Matthew would be a size 3 so would that be 6-12 months or 12-18 months?

I've been confused about shoes as well. Henry is cruising really well and I think he will start walking in the next few months. I bought a pair of warm fuzzy crocs just to keep him feet warm this winter. UGH and he has WIDE feet.

How do you keep baby from taking them off?

Here's a brand you might want to look into.. It's a in-between an all soft soled shoe and an all rubber soled shoe..

Bobux I-Walk Jr. - Soft soled baby shoes

I also like See Kai Run shoes.. But they start in size 3..
