I had some soreness down there too and had those dumb ice packs and loads of swelling for awhile (I guess b/c he started to come out that way ??), but nothing after 2 weeks. Except it was difficult to walk so . . . like Angela said you get messed up one way or the other Hope your business starts to get back to as normal as possible soon
She is a doll and your siggy is beautiful

I didn't feel right until the day before my 6wk PP check up, so dont let it worry you if you feel it's going on for a long time. I have an episiotomy as well and as the stitches began to dissolve and the cut began to heal, it felt very tight, not so much sore but tight. It was horrible. I was scared to sit/move incase I tore open again but obviously that didn't happen. It's very uncomfy though, I hear ya!!
Miss Lily is just a wee gem

Ben went back to work Monday. I miss him! I wish we could win the lottery and both be stay at home parents. We were joking about how awesome that would be and I was like "yeah! and then we could buy a sectional!" and he's like seriously? we win the lottery and you're excited for a new couch?!
But yeah, he works second shift (3-midnight) b/c it paid more and I kind of hate it. It seemed like a great idea... more money since I'd be staying home, and he'd be off in the mornings to go to doctor appointment's w/ me, etc. But it just sucks. He's having an evaluation soon and is going to see about working midshift which is ten-seven. The nights just feel long like I'm sitting around waiting on him. But he has a four day weekend this weekend so that is AWESOME! and he has a client meeting & photoshoot tomorrow but the shoot got post-poned b/c of crappy weather so that's more time for me!

Feedings are going wonderfully still! I haven't had any sore nips or any issues... she's always latched well and she eats quickly so it's only like ten minutes unless she wants to use me as a pacifier or something. I'm just totally fortunate that this hasn't been a struggle at all and we're both really enjoying it. I still think though that the dads should lactate when the mom gives birth... it would definitely make things easier. I know Ben feels a little bit 'left out' sometimes by not being able to feed her, and hates that when she's fussy he just hands her over. Not gonna lie... I'm not the biggest fan of that either. haha. At the same time its special knowing that I'm the only one with the 'fix' though. Kind of bittersweet.
Sleeping is going. If you'd asked me yesterday you would have gotten an entirely different post. Lily is such an easy baby and everything has been going perfectly. We're really blessed. I haven't had any baby blues and I'd been super concerned about PPD, etc. I'm not out of the water yet, but it's been two weeks and I've been doing great mood-wise... way better than when I was pregnant, so I've been feeling pretty good.
... and then yesterday happened.
haha. Bug doesn't like being put down pretty much ever... so my homemade moby wrap is a lifesaver! But if she's sleeping and you put her down she'll start fussing. She hasn't really had many full blown cries b/c the fussing stresses me out and I want to fix her need. But I've been having some hellish nighttime sweats that mean that even when the baby is sleeping good I'm not. And so I just didn't really get any sleep the night before last... and then she was fussy yesterday. and I hadn't left the house since Sunday night. And I really felt like my life was just two hour long bursts between feedings and I got really overwhelmed and felt like there was no end in sight. I finally cried... not bawling but just had tears running down my cheeks, of course, right as Ben had to leave for work so he felt like total crap leaving. I wound up going over to my mom's for dinner and she held her and I got to eat a real meal with both hands and then stayed over there until like 11:45pm watching TV and I just felt a lot better. When Ben got home from work I handed him a freshly-fed baby and took my arse to bed! He slept in the guest room so Lily and I had more space in bed and we both slept great since she was up all day fussing. I woke up feeling like a whole new person. Today has gone great and she's been awake and content and then napping. When she napped I put her in her pack and play and she actually SLEPT while not being held! So I went and took a nap too even though I wasn't really that tired.
So I think we're back on track to feeling good and yesterday was just kind of really crappy. I'm sure there will be more crappy days but now I know the cure is to run to my mom's house. haha. I was seriously overwhelemed though, wondering how people do it. Like everyone has a person who took care of them as a baby... I feel like I have an easy baby and am not unfit to be a mother but man it was a struggle yesterday for me. I'm glad that's over and today is going much better! And I am also so super thankful I don't have any other obstacles, like a difficult baby or BFing troubles, etc.

It's good to hear how things are going with the three of you. I hope that Ben gets to change his shift. It must get lonely waiting for him to come home. I know that Damon was working 6-11 PM when Oliver was a small baby and it was lonely.
Lily sounds like the perfect baby. You struggly the other day sounds like how Oliver was every day. It was every two hours for months! I read your other post on your DDC about the night sweats. It must be your hormones dropping and maybe all the extra water weight coming out? I hope it stops soon. I have woken up in a cold sweat before and it feels so gross.
I love you new siggy. Two weeks old already!

Lily is beautiful! It's so great to hear from you. It looks like you're doing really well, even though things are not perfect 100% of the time. You're a wonderful mommy!

Aw, I'm glad things are going well for you overall, despite having one really crappy day. I hope Ben can change his shift too.
Hooray for BFing!
