Um....oops? I had my back turned to him because I was putting the van's seats down so we could fit in the recliner we just bought...anyways...I hear this crying "Mommmmmyyyy oowwwwyyyyy" and Normally he doesnt cry if he gets hurt - so I spin around, and there he is, on his hands and knees on the concrete holding the back of his head!!! So long story short, we brought him home, he seemed ok but he threw up so I took him into the ER. They did a head CT which showed no fractures, thank god. Just a good concussion, which would be why hes throwing up. So after 2 doses of zofran and tylenol, hes running around being a dork again :/

Moral of the story - DO NOT PUT KIDS IN THE BACK OF THE CART! I dont care how well they stay put, ITS NOT SAFE!!!!

Oh poor little guy! I have read stories like these on JM before. Thanks for the reminder not to do this.

I am glad he is ok now Do you have to stay up with him or something? When I was a kid, if we got a concussion we couldn't sleep for hours after. I think.

That happened to my brother when he was a kid. Actually he was in the front but the basket tipped over. Happy to hear Ian is okay.

This is why I'm always yelling at Gemma around carts. She's old enough that she wants to try to hold onto them or cling to the basket part and 'ride' it. She scares the heck out of me alot.

I hope Ian is feeling better now!

Now a day's - as long as their not immediately wanting to sleep, or eyes are dilated to difference sizes than the other eye, then they can sleep at any time they want. Because he was vomiting and STILL sleepy even after his nap time window (which usually if he passes, he gets his 2nd wind) he was just mopy and staring off into space a bit, so thats why the head CT was ordered.

Ian is doing MUCH better this morning, his neck isnt even bugging him too much. I can tell hes hurting though (sticking out his chest, so his neck can stay in one spot...kinda hard to describe but walk around like that it puts your neck into this frame) Anyways - he's made a full recovery but I doubt hell no near another cart again, which is ok because hes big enough to walk and follow direction

Thank you ladies for your kind words, they've ment alot, I knew you guys would send love

~Beth

Poor guy! Glad he's doing ok now. When I was little I fell backwards out of a cart and hit my head on the tile floor of a kmart and also got a concussion. Happens to the best of us! haha.
