I read some article about how a theory for what causes pre-e is not enough exposure pre-pregnancy to the husband's semen. They suggested the best route for this is to ingest it 
What, I think Shannon is the only one who had it too? I don't remember. So what form of bcp were you using before Shannon? It makes sense for us considering DHs problem. And my cousin and his wife that had her baby early after getting eclamptic seizures (I posted about it) were both virgins and got pregnant almost immediately. Interesting.

Hmmm, I didn't have pre-e with Gem and I had only been with her bio father for like a month when I got pregnant. I've been with Shane for almost a year now so we'll see what happens this time around!
Oh, and for the record, totally a spitter!

Wow, interesting. I've heard it was linked to semen exposure, but I didn't know the best exposure was oral ingestion. I'll keep this one a secret from DH...

we did NFP for the 2 years or so before I got pg and bcp before that. andddd I'm not a spitter  so i dont think my pre e had anything to do with that but i have heard things about spunk being good for you, justnot related to pre e stuff. haha

Yeah it really didn't help me in any kind of pre-e avoidance. However its most common in a first pregnancy... so if I were ever to do this again (pfft!) then at least its less likely!
And also... swallowing is just easier. It's in, it's down, it's done. It doesn't linger or cause a mess like if you try to spit. I spit one time... it felt like it was in my mouth being salty longer and... for extra TMI goodness... it just wound up all over the side of the car when I spit it out the window. WOOOO ROAD HEAD! So yeah, you're not swallowing for nothin'... you're swallowing for convenience, baby!
