I can agree with them. My MIL bought some kind of puffs for Amara and I happened to be there when she gave them to her. DH decided to taste one and complained that were salty so I tried one and it was right up there with the type of salt you taste in cheese curls. I told her not to give Amara them and she told me she hadn't read the sodium content. I'm at the point of telling her not to buy anything for Amara or give Amara anything without consulting me.

Yuck. I never buy anything gerber brand (because I'm an organic snob..lol). My SIL buys those and I did see that the sodium was high in them. She gave me one once to give to Oliver. I threw it out.. he wouldn't eat it anyways.. he is too picky. I heated it up and took a bite. It was gross. I won't feed him anything I wouldn't eat.

I also rarely use jar baby food - and like I said earlier, if I do, its beechnut. They are also really high in sugar as well. I try to feed baby whatever were eating.

I feed Cambria what we eat too but my Mom gave me a few of the meals a while back. I gave her one once and she didn't like it so Ive never given them to her again.

I was a total organic (although mostly jarred) snob when it came to baby foods. I've been a lot more lax about it now that he's older, but I still won't buy those Gerber things. It's tempting because they are quick and easy, but not only is the sodium sky high, but they smell and look like s***! My mom bought him these Gerber Pasta Pick Ups (mini raviolis) and the "sauce" was grey, the noodles were mushy and it smelled really odd. Reid liked them, but I would prefer that he eat what we eat. In a pinch, I will just boil some noodles and toss them in a bit of tomato sauce. Not a great meal, but better than the Graduates and nearly as easy.

This is why Mia has always eaten what we have.
