OK, so yesterday I was checking the Portland Craiglist because I have been thinking about getting a second Medela pump. Well, I come across an ad for 'Breast milk wanted', so I clicked out of curiosity. It was some adult dude who believes in the healing powers of boobie milk and his goal is to drink 12 oz per day. Ewww, creepy!!! And then I read he would pay $1 per oz... and I literally considered it for a minute before I came to my senses!!! But seriously, some one could make some good amount of cash, lol.
(seriously, I am not doing this...)

That's pretty weird...
And for the record I think my milk is worth more than $1/oz.

I hate to say it but I would seriously consider sending that dude some BM! How many oz can you pump at one time and still have enough for baby? If I could make $10 a day or something I would totally go for it! I don't think that's as bad as the girls who auctioned their virginity for tuition money for college!

ok thats kinda wierd. although i will say i have read that they sometimes give breast milk to ppl who are very sick since it is so nutritionally dense.
you can sell breast milk online for really astronomical prices...but unless i really needed the money i think thats something i'd rather donate. although i drink too much to ever be able to donate. too much is like one glass of wine every other day, i'm not a lush!

I think milk banks charge around $3 per ounce? But they have to process it/pay for HIV testing, etc.
The pump is not a friend to me, so every ounce I pump is hard won! I do have a freezer stash that is getting old though. I tried to donate online locally but didn't get any responses, ppl don't think it is worth it I guess unless you have a ton of ounces and I don't.
I think it would be easier to go donate plasma! Don't you get like $50 for that?

Weird, but I could see trying to buy it on CL. I have about 30oz(that I got in (1.5days a couple weeks ago) thats just sitting in my freezer and I have nothing to use it for, but I can't donate it because of the meds I had just came off of when I pumped and because some donation places have very high standards of their Donner and wouldn't take me(like not over weight, no medical problems during pregnancy things like that)
