My miscarriage is in full swing now, lovely. It's so gross. Anyways I want to m/c all of that gunk naturally but i'd love to not be in pain. I don't want to stop whatever is going on down there though (mild contrax?) cause it's working. We just got Aleve in Canada, do you think that would be better than Tylenol or Advil? Or is one of those the better choice? I just dont know.

Honestly (not going to be a popular answer)..... I wouldn't take anything because I wouldn't want to even possibly slow down whats going on.

Advil is more for inflammation---but your not having swelling pain.
Tylenol would be ok for mild aches
Aleve- ditto to the tylenol.
The only thing thats going to make the pain your having (cramping/muscle spasms) get better is a muscle relaxant...like Doans muscle relaxant (for back and over the counter) or midol (also has a relaxant in it) but they are going to relax your uterus---hence causing this to go on longer.
If anything I would get a bunch of red raspberry leaf tea and speed it up so it would be over faster. Honestly I would just be drunk but thats NOT the healthy way to do it.

I took Tylenol 3 because I found the contractions to be excruciatingly painful and it made me sleep through the brunt of it, which was very nice. I wasn't prepared for how painful it was going to be, so it caught me by surprise and I was very thankful that I had the pain meds available to make the process easier.

yeah see i dont want anything to slow down, i had a feeling that would be the case. but i didnt know a lot about aleve...good to know. I tried the drinking route last week and i ended up hysterically crying so i think i am best to avoid that! i will def do the red rasp leaf tea though, thanks for the reccomendation.

oh heather that sounds really bad. i am sorry urs was so terrible. mine is just like really bad period cramps and the odd stabbing pain here and there thank goodness.

I'd always had luck with Aleve and Advil for menstural type cramps.

You could always ask for a script of something stronger from your Dr. I'm sure they would accommodate.

That is good - I wouldn't wish what I had on anyone. I had them because of the meds though, they were more like contractions than period cramps.

Warm heating pad on my lower back and on my abdomen helped a TON too.

I agree with Angela. I wouldn't recommend anything for the pain. I wouldn't want to slow anything down... but I've been there. My first m/c was extremely painful. I think I just curled up in a ball and prayed it would end soon.

Sorry sweety.

i'll try the heat too, thanks ladies. i wish i had one of those old rubber hot water bottles. something about them just feels/smells so soothing. i went to zellers to get pads & i was in way too much pain to go to the healthfood store to get the red rasp tea so i took a peek in the pharmacy area and by some small miracle they actually had organic red rasp tea - in zellers! i've got it brewing right now...

as far as this being like AF, its wierdly different. Aside from the increased cramping, the flow is way brighter, and a lot more blood and tissue. i soaked thru one of my cloth pads which has never happened before.

You have every right to complain!!!! What you are going through was by far the most uncomfortable and devastating thing I've ever had to go through. So complain away.

The nausea part isn't fun at all. Try to tell yourself that it wont last forever. Eventually the pain part WILL get better and it will ease up and feel like a very heavy normal period. The pain part will ease up, your body is just trying it's hardest to expel everything out for you.

Lots and lots of hugs to you!!!

I took advil for my m/c. Couldn't have gotten through it otherwise.

My heart is breaking for you I'm glad that it's eased up! It's just so unfair how a m/c is not only emotionally hurtful but also so physically painful!

I hope it stays away for your class!
