Jack is a lovely baby. He really is. He hardly throws fits or cries. He will smile at a stranger if he likes them, and has always been very engaged & alert, wanting to scope out his surroundings and the people in them. At the same time, he can chill out at times too. He likes me wearing him now (yay!), is patient when he is tired, and loves to chill outside and with me or his dad.
Jack also has a terrific sense of humor. BUT, it appears he has inherited my sense of humor, and a sort of mischievous spirit of which I am sure will give me headaches as he grows. For instance, today I was changing his diaper on the floor. I always try to keep an eye on his legs so he doesn't kick around his dirty diaper. Well, today (and he did this yesterday too), as soon as I start to get his diaper off, before I could even see what's inside of it, he kicked VERY HARD directly into the poop inside it. Then, laughing his little butt off, he kicked wildly about smearing poop EVERYWHERE around him, including my arm as I tried to grab his leg to hold it still (to no avail as his leg and my hand were too slippery with poop). He finds this whole thing completely hysterical, and both times laughed until he couldn't even breathe. Of course, he only does this if there is tons of poop inside the diaper, and there is always a fake out at the start of the diaper change as he passively lies there like a well behaved baby, right before the lighting fast kung fu kick into the dirty diaper.
Another instance - he has always had periods where he says mama, then stops saying mama. So I try to get him to say it again by asking him to say mama. His response? I ask him if he can say mama, and he whistles instead and then laughs at me. If I look disappointed or like I slightly disapprove of his insolence, he laughs harder.

Im sorry Michelle but I almost choked on my coffee with laughter while reading this!
Jack sounds like such a real charactor though! (BTW how is Jack nearly 8 months old?!)
The poop thing I can relate too.... Unfortunatley. I used to try and hold Mias legs while I pulled her nappy down to avoid such mishaps!

OMG!!! That is soooo funny!!! He is going to be a hand full when he gets older!! I think that is so adorable! (probably not to you at the time) buts its so funny the way you describe how he acts so calm and well behaved while your getting the diaper off, then jumps all over the place when it gets off!

Awwww I'm sorry you're at the start of your ride with Jack. Since he's taken on your sense of humor maybe you can find ways to out humor him. Checkmate! lol

That is really funny! I can't wait until he can walk. I can only imagine where his sense of humor will take him then!

They learn early don't they? You should hear the evil laugh Drake gives me as he runs to the dog bowls, right before he dumps their water all over. I really need to video it!

Oh Michelle, he sounds just like my Lochy. If so, yes, you are definitely in for it! His latest trick is snatching a toy from Liam and when Liam tries to get it back he'll throw it behind the table so he can't get it with that little smirk on his face. Sounds like Jack will definitely be keeping you on your toes! LOL

My mom always says this about me and her. I was so much like her that we used to really butt heads a lot but Jack is so cute and a sense of humor is a good trait to have.

like my dad always said, boys are trouble makers haha but we love them anyway. Jack sounds exactly like my nephew, so mischevious. It's gonna be hard to discipline him and not laugh at some of the things he does when he gets older

What is that saying, You pay for your raising? I don't remember, it is late, but basically if you were a little toot for your parents then it will come back and bite you in the butt!
