So today Miki comes downstairs saying how she wants a cookie (Oatmeal Cream Pie) at 10am. I tell her no, she pouts and lets her know that she can have a fruit cup or apple sauce. I gave her vitamins and then she ate the fruit cup. About 15 mins after she says that she wants fries. I tell her that its too early and that she can have either cereal, yogurt, applesauce or a poptart (things that are easy to make b/c I am not cooking breakfast and I know she likes all 4). She says no to all 4 b/c she really wanted fries, so I say "oh well, its too early for fries."
She goes upstairs crying and hollering (I pay her no attention). Will wakes up to her screams and calls me and asks me if she ate. I let him know what I just told you all and then end with "If she's hungry, she'll eat one of those." Sure enough about 30 mins later, she comes downstairs and says she's hungry, I say she can either have applesauce, yogurt, cereal or a poptart. She chose the yogurt and is eating that as we speak.
HaHa had to let her know that she better eat whats offered, nothing more. Now I give her options but she can only choose from those. My mom let me know to just keep making sure she takes her vitamins.
BTW I did the whole "If you eat your food, then you can have a cookie" thing. It partially worked. She ate a little bit of her pasta, a small fork full of her veggies and all of her fruit. Will ended up offering it to her (she had forgotten about it) anyway after she ate. So much for that! Tonight I'm making spaghetti so I should have better luck tonight with getting her to eat all her food on her own.
Thanks ladies for all of your suggestions.

I know Ash, I was once a picky eater. I only ate hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, pizza and spaghetti. Eventually though as I got older I'd try something and realize that I really did like it.

That's great!!! My dad made eating a complete power struggle for me-- like, if I didn't like something, he'd only offer me that for all meals all day and I WOULDNT eat it, my mom would sneak me something else. To this day I'm still VERY reluctant to try new things but I think it's awesome you gave her choices and it wasn't like, YOU MUST EAT THIS!

Yeah I like having options so I couldnt deprive her of that. But once its cooked or prepared, there's no going back lol. I figured if she was hungry enough, she'll eat one of those.
