Ok yes I cried!!!! That was sooo amazing and beautiful. I can only imagine. That had to have been one of the most emotional days of her life.

I quit reading once I got to why it's heart-wrenching. I looked at the pictures but I don't think I would have read this if I knew what was coming. If you're pregnant you may want to skip this!

It just makes me worry. She doesn't say if she had any prenatal testing done or an NT scan or a quad marker screening so I have to wonder if it was missed because she didn't do these things or if it was just missed. I'm terrified of having a special needs child so now I'm worried that all our 'normal' results could be hiding a surprise like this. Not that it isn't beautiful but it has me scared now.

I just want to say, not to scare you, but those tests don't always work either. My mom's friend had her daughter when she was 29 and the tests never showed DS they found out something was wrong at about 30weeks and she was born around 34-35 and then found out after birth thats what she had.

I read it and I found it beautiful and I cried too

Im reading her more recent posts now, and crying again. I cannot explain how moved I am by this story. It makes me want to be a better person, and a better mother, even though I havent had the chance to be a mother at all yet.

She chose not to have the tests done- they were going to keep the baby no matter what. I think it's a beautiful, amazing story!!! I made my husband read it too! I follow her blog now.

I agree w/ Ashey- I don't think anyone should skip it....it's such a true, honest portrayal of her feelings. I don't think it should 'scare' anyone- this is just her story and how she handled it.

I understand that. I just don't think I could handle a special needs baby. I admire anyone who can skip the tests and say they will be happy no matter what. It takes a special strength to raise a child knowing they will never grow up and leave home or be self-sufficient or probably even get married. I, personally, could not do it. What scares me is now I will be wondering what would I do if that happened to me? What if this baby was born with a serious handicap? I don't know what I'd do but I don't think I would be capable of raising the child the right way. I'm just not that strong.

This wass posted on the NCB board several days ago and I LOVED it. The photos are breathtaking. I LOVED when the sisters met. I had DH sit with me and read it again and he cried too. I loved her honesty.
