Gotta wait another three weeks, but finally have an appointment on 5th March.
I rang the hospital to be told they weren't having another clinic in my area until the end of April!! I told them I was more than happy to travel to the next available appointment (only 2.5 hours drive), so they put me in for 5th March in Auckland. I also said I'd come to any earlier appointment if there was a cancellation.
Feel much better now that I have a date

Thats great! I'm hoping that they call you with a cancellation before then so that you can have things done sooner. what will they be doing at the Geneticist?

I think he'll be telling us exactly what a 'Balanced Translocation' means for us if we are trying to have children, then going over our options, IVF etc.
I kinda already know about it from all the research I've done, but it will be good to be able to discuss it further with someone IRL!
My doctor also said not to TTC until after we have seen him. If we wait until 5th March, then it means I would have to miss a whole cycle! Hope it's at least 7 days before then - lol!

i'm soooooooooo happy you got an appointment. be sure to call them every couple days in aukland to see about cancellations. the squeaky wheel gets the grease, just be super nice when you call. then hoepfullly you wouldnt have to miss a cycle ttc. **hugs** i'm just so happy for u!

I'm actually feeling okay about TTC again. The thought that there is only a 25% chance our baby will be 'normal' with all chromosomes in the right place is a little scary. But a life without children is even more scary, so we know we'll continue trying.
I'm having all these random pregnancy symptoms, even though I know there is like a 99.9% chance there is no way I am... however I'm finding myself wishing I was pregnant, so that's a good sign!!
