I can't believe my little man is 2 months old already. It feels like just yesterday he was just a teeny tiny newborn (actually it feels like just yesterday I got my BFP!). We had his 2 month appointment yesterday and he is fit as a fiddle. He got 3 vaccines via shot and 1 oral vaccine (we have chosen to not delay vaccines). He was not a happy camper. He has a big knot at the shot site on one leg but the other leg is fine. The doctor warned me that the first leg might get a knot on it because Oz clenched his muscle. Oh well. I'm keeping an eye on it.
I know a lot of you saw my post on facebook but I was absolutely appalled when I was in the waiting room at the pediatritian's office and a little girl (age 4 or 5) came up and tried to touch Osric's face. When I told the little girl "Don't touch please" the mother got all mad and huffy with me saying "It's not like she is going to hurt him!". Silly me worrying about germs in the waiting room at a doctor's office! *sigh* Some people!!
In other news we had a successful first time on an airplane. Osric has now been to Texas and has 4 successful takeoffs and landings under his belt. He did let out a few cries and whimpers on each flight but overall I got compliments from those people around me. I am glad that I took Angela's suggestion to practice nursing while Osric is sitting up before we left because it really can be tight in some of those airplane seats. Our first flight I had a middle seat between two large men. But we successfully nursed. The other three flights I had a window seat which made things so much easier since I only really needed to cover the view from one side (so I could peak to make sure he was still good much easier).
All right, I know all you really want are pictures:

Look how big he is getting! He is so handsome. He looks like such a big boy in that second pic.
I can't believe that woman! Who lets their kids touch babies uninvited, much less has a retort ready to fire off when you ask not to touch. And you were polite too, I don't get it.
I'm glad the flights went well. Kudos to you for nursing between two men, I would have been nervous and awkward about it.

Ugh, I can't believe that mother in the pedi office! It's so sad... she IS a mother so she should understand that even if your request is crazy (totally isn't!) she should still RESPECT it! *you* call the shots with your baby, not her kid! ugh!
And I am super impressed with you nursing in a middle seat on an airplane! Ugh, just picturing me trying to sit on an airplane with a newborn stresses me out... those coach seats are so tiny! And then whipping out a boob next to two large men?! I'm impressed! glad he was an angel on the flights too! That must have been such a relief!
He's super adorable and I love how your bird is totally hanging out w/ him!

You know... I was super stressed about the whole airplane/airport experience and it was so not worth stressing over! Sure he cried some but it was manageable and nursing was a necessity so I didn't really have an option to not fee him. A year ago I would have fretted about whipping out a boob, but now I am a pro at whipping it out (well... whipping it out while staying covered!) I am glad that everyone around me was not rude. There was one man on one of my flights who saw that he was going to be in my row (he was aisle and I was window with a seat in between us) and he asked to be reseated. Oh well. Better than having to listen to him complain the whole flight.

I just get really stressed out about other people being uncomfortable or something, which is stupid and I'm sure I'll have to quickly get over while having a kid. I took my dog on a cross country flight and my nerves were SHOT the entire time. Literally like I had the nervous craps on one of the flights b/c I was so horrified he was going to bark and be a nuisance and annoy the other passengers. He was a total angel on both flights.... slept in his carrier under the seat the whole time, but I was so horrified he was going to act up that I dammmn near had a heart attack! Literally, after the first flight, I contemplated DRIVING back to GA from CA b/c I was so nervous to fly with him again and *he* was totally fine! So there is no way I'd fly with a baby without my mom or husband or someone else to calm me down when I'm panicking that she's going to act up. haha. So I'm like WAY impressed that you nursed in a middle seat, b/c just the thought of it makes my blood pressure spike.
Oh and also... how much does Oz weigh now? He looks so grown up in those pics I can't believe Bug will be like that in just another short month!

Kudos to nursing between the 2 men. I would have told the child not to touch either and I wouldn't care if the mom got vex. I'm sure if the she had a young baby she'd be furious if someone (child or not) touched him/her especially in his/her face.`
