Gem and I decided to try dyeing some of our cloth diapers, some burp cloths and some white onesies. We bought 9 different colors of dye and some iron on and sew on appliques. We spent a long time dyeing everything, washing it, drying it and decorating it but I think the results were worth it! What do you think?

Waiting for dye:

Dyeing:

Finished products:

Gemma made a shirt for herself:

Entire stash:

And we ran out of dye so we'll be doing this again for the rest of them either tomorrow or next weekend!

They are wonderful. I especially like the onsies- very pretty. Hope you don't come to find out you're actually having a boy, lol.

I'd say most of the colors are unisex. Cute. Loving the idea.

LOVING THEM! You did a great job and I'm sure it was a fun project for Gemma too! And yeah, with some of those colors you're totally going to jinx yourself into having a boy! The onesies are my favorite, you'd never guess they were plain ole boring white to start out with!

Thanks ladies! I used Dylon brand dye. I got Bahama Blue, China Blue, Tulip Red, Flamingo Pink, Goldfish Orange, Sunflower Yellow, Tropical Green, Terracotta Brown and Intense Violet.

I would be thrilled to have a boy! So if this makes it so then sweet! I figured I can give away and/or sell off alot of the 'wrong' colored stash but I really don't care if my boy wears purple diapers at home or at night KWIM?

LOVE THEM! How creative of you! It's amazing what a little color and appliques can do.

I got some handmedown girl-colored clothes for Osric before I knew he was a boy and use them at night and in his diaper bag. I call the outfit I keep in his diaper bag the "outfit of shame". HAHA. Actually he won't fit into it much longer and all of his bigger clothes are much more boy colored so I guess he won't have to worry about shame much longer.

Wow so creative! They look great! How long did it take to dye them all? How did you get the CD to still have the white edges?

The PUL won't absorb dye. The velcro and PUL stayed white on all of the dipes. The diaperaps are the ones pictured (Angela sent me them) and they just came out like that. I just tried dying a Bummis wrap and it didn't absorb any dye. Guess there's too much PUL.

We're finishing our second batch now! Shane even went with us and picked out more dye and appliques!

Oh and it took like 12 hours to dye them all but that includes washing them several times (I washed each color seperately first and then washed them again all together).
