I haven't updated you girls much about me and Henry.
To tell you the truth, I've been kinda depressed. Some of it has been DH working long hours lately and his upcoming 2 week trip away from us. But mostly it's been all the negative comments or assumptions I've been getting about being a SAHM. Last week, I did something to my neck/shoulder (not really sure, most likely taking care of baby) and I could hardly move let alone take care of Henry. I called MIL since it was her day off if she could come help me for a few hours until DH got off work. She said "how hard can it be to just watch him? Just put him in the playpen and lay down." This coming from the woman who has 6 kids, you'd think she's realize how much work he is. So I had to call DH for him to come home early. DH's boss gave him a hard time, saying "how is she going to handle you going away for 2 weeks?." Henry is almost 10 months old and I have NEVER called him home from work. Actually my entire pregnancy I never did either. Just because I'm a SAHM means I don't get a sick day? Whatever, DH took me to the ER and I got some wonderful meds.
During these massive waves of snow in our county, my neice and nephew's school collasped. The school closed obviously and the kids don't have anywhere to attend yet. My SIL (who I can't stand) texts me asking if I can watch her kids (who are 5 and 6). Her words were, "since you have free time, can you watch the kids?" Yeah, I have LOADS of free time. So we worked something out (wouldn't you if you could?) and I promised to watch them all this week. Yesterday, my brother comes to pick them up after an exhausting day. My neck was still acting funny, and I was behind on my cleaning. Our house isn't a pig sty but it has gotten more messy than I want. I said , "excuse the mess." He says "I'm surprised the house is so messy. What else do you DO all day?" I was so angry that I said I would only watch them on Friday and he would have to find other care until then so I could "clean my house." He was shocked but he pissed me off.
Also I have my mom who is constantly asking me since Henry was born, "aren't you bored being home all day?" Even though if I drop him off for a few hours to run errands, she is gladly giving him back saying "he's such a handful." I AM SO ANGRY that no one in my family seems to support me. So yeah, I've been alittle depressed and mopey. If you've read this far, you're a sweethart.
On to happy news and my bragging rights! Henry had his 9 months checkup today (3 weeks late haha). He's now 21lbs, 3oz, 29 1/2in. Doctor says his motor skills are at an 11 month level. He's cruising and crawling EVERYwhere. He loves to climb the stairs. He's becoming very ticklish. And he loves to "talk" to the cat. I swear it's like they have a full conversation. Haven't shared pictures in awhile....

Being a SAHM is hard work and it's not easy keeping up on housework, meals, shopping, ect. It's a shame your family doesn't support you more.
Henry weighs the same as Oliver! lol.. I have a peanut! Henry is looking so cute.

Wow!! I cannot believe how insensitive so many people around you are!! I mean seriously they all have kids, how can they not understand!! How rude! Dont be depressed, they are the ones who are wrong here! Im so sorry for you, it sucks when no one around you understands what you go through and doesnt support you 100%. I hope your DH does at least!
Henry is getting so big! He is so adorable as usual! Before you know it, its going to be his first birthday! (I know you probably dont want to hear that! )

That is such crap. I don't know why everyone thinks moms never get a "sick day". Even when I've felt horrid I still had to take care of Matthew by myself. Sorry you were in so much pain and your family isn't being supportive.
Not the same thing but my Dh has been giving me a hard time lately b/c I asked him to help more with either housework or with Matthew at night (he's still waking a lot and I'm up with him a lot, not sure if I want to try some sort of sleep training). Anyway I've been told that "it's my job" to take care of Matthew and do all the housework. He insinuated that I could get it all done if I got off the computer. I'm really just pissed that I came home from a week at my mom's house and he had not cleaned up any dirty dishes, scooped the cat's litterbox or taken back an overdue library book that he said he would. Anyway sorry that became my own personal vent session.
Henry is sooo cute, I love the one of him in the blue striped romper and the bath picture. Hehe look at all his teeth and Matthew still only has 2! They seem to be somewhat close in size, at 9 months Matthew was 21 lb even and 28.5 inches.

DH is supportive but I DO get some of the same complaints. I'll run out for an hr or 2 and leave Henry with him. And I come back and alot of the mess I asked him to clean up is still there. He says "Henry was whining and I didn't have time." Then he usually shuts up for a few days because he can sorta understand haha.
As for his teeth! He got the top four all within 2 days! It was a day after DH had left for 2 weeks. Boy did that suck for mommy!

I'm sorry you're getting crap from other people about being a SAHM. It's pretty ridiculous. You know, if you worked outside of the home and Henry was off at daycare (or with you at daycare, lol) no one would be home to make your house 'messy' and it would take considerably less time for you and Ed to throw it back together in the evening. You have a little one at home tearing it apart all day, and you have to be right there to watch and entertain him... it's just not realistic to get everything you ever need to do done while he's napping. And to expect you to be superwoman while in PAIN is just absurd. I'm glad you told your SIL you won't watch the kids if they're going to be ungrateful about it.
Henry is adorable... his smile just melts my heart.

First of all, Henry is adorable. You make beautiful babies. Second, I can't believe how rude people are. My goodness. Being a Mom or Dad is the hardest job in the world.

I feel your pain! I Cook, I clean ( which Hasn't been getting done cause ive been so sick ) I grocery and all the other shopping, I take care of Cambria 99% of the time, I DO EVERYTHING!!! I dont get a sick day. Isn't it glamorous to be a SAHM! Im lucky If I shower every other day! haha!! People dont "know" what you do all day unless you are in the same shoes! I have to bite my tongue a lot so I dont turn into the nagging wife, lol. But on a lighter note, Henry is SO FREAKING CUTE!!!! I love babies in snow suit's. I would love to see a baby try and walk or even move in one of those!! haha. He is such a happy baby!!

I was lurking and wanted to show you some support. Like the others said, it is hard being a sahm, especially the older they get. I have had my own sahm sorrows lately too. I hope you start feeling better. Maybe tell them, "if you feel like criticizing me just sthu." That would go over real well, huh!? lol
Henry is looking very cute, and sounds like he is thriving. Good job, mom

I'm so sorry about everything! How rude are those people?! I'd say I do 99% of the cleaning and raising of these girls... it's a full time job! Andy already said he doesn't know how I do it and knows it the hardest job ever I HATE it when people act like SAHMs don't do anything!
He's adorable though, what a cutie! Sounds like he's doing well

I can't believe how insensitive people can be. Staying at home is a lot of hard work. I don't know why people think that when you're home, you have soooo much free time. It's as though persons think you can put the child away for a few hours, go do what you have to do and go back when you're done. They're crazy! I'm so sorry they've been giving you so much hassle.
Now, on to the super cute pics on Henry and his appointment. He's growing beautifully and what a cutie he is. I love the pics.
Hope you're feeling better today.

How is it possible that Henry keeps getting cuter and cuter??? My gosh, is he a doll!
I'm sorry you're not getting support from your family. That really sucks and they have quite the nerve. Yes, being a SAHM means all you do is sit around all day. It's the hardest, most exhausting "job" I've ever had! You're doing such a great job with Henry, don't let anyone make you feel different!
