The fact that my DDC (which I'm not even a member of anymore) posted a happy birthday thread for Violet but WTTC Grads which is supposedly my "home" can't remember EITHER of my kids birthdays. Or even my own!
But hey, rock on with the happy birthday threads for the hubbies.
--
I think it's time to accept the fact that I'm not a Grad anymore - I'm not TTC, I'm not pregnant, and I'm done having children. To those who are pregnant or TTC, I wish you all the blessings in the world.
Peace out.

I'm so sorry Kate. I'm not usually the one to start those threads but I for sure should have for you!! I'm really sorry I didn't. You are super duper important to me and you've been a huge part of my JM experience. I'm sorry that I forgot such important dates! (Especially when they are around my own kids!!!).
I hope Violet has a wonderful birthday today!

I normally never start those birthday threads either....and the reason is 100% because I dont want to remember one and then forget some others and have people left out! I am so so sorry, Kate. Im so saddened at the thought of you leaving too, WTTC grads is falling apart is seems and it really really sucks because this is my "home" on JM and the main reason im on JM at all. No one has ever posted a "happy birthday" thread for me, and ive been here through two of my birthdays....and people do for other peoples birthdays so i know how you feel. I dont want you to leave!!!!!!!!!!

I normally dont start those threads either. Her birthday is today though right. Its only noon here. I normally dont keep track of birthdays unelss I run across it in a ticker or see something about it on FB. If it makes you feel better, I forgot my nephews birthday that was 2 days ago... what an aunt huh.
I wish you wouldnt go. We love hearing Violet updates and seeing funny and cute pics of her.

There isn't a birthday list so its not really expected to get the birthday posts. Maybe we should make one.

I'm sorry you are upset. We love your wee tots! I never post those because I wouldn't remember everyone and wouldn't want to forget and hurt someone's feelings. I've never gotten a happy birthday post either. :[

I'm sorry Kate. It definatley wasn't intentional. I can't even remember my own birhtday. *Hugs* I don't want you to go anywhere. I really appreciate your parenting info.
Maybe we should put together a Grads calendar with important dates. I think Kati knows how to do it. Then we can remember lots of things. Not only birthdays.

I'm so sorry that you feel this way! I'm still pretty new so I honestly have no idea when anyone's big days are. Maybe we should make a list, I know that would help me keep everything straight, and get to know you lovely ladies better. I hope you decide to stay!!!

I'm sorry Kate. I never realize it's anyone's bday unless I see stuff about it on facebook or a thread is started by someone else.
I really do hope Violet has a great bday!

I'm sorry your feeling bummed about it Kate. I've never had a birthday thread for me or either of my boys either. I know I don't get on here much but I don't want to see you leave here! I love hearing about your girls and seeing their pics.

I'm sorry. I don't think it's intentional.
No one has ever posted a thread for my birthday and none was posted for Amara's birthday either but I didn't let it bother it. It's extra nice when persons remember but I realise that not everyone is going to remember so I don't allow it to bother me. I'm sure it happens to other ladies here too. There's no official callendar reminder or anything so it could get hard to remember the birthdays and other important dates.
Actually, I'm really should check back in the Feb DDC (since that was my official DDC) to see if anyone remembered Amara's birthday and posted but I never responded.
Happy First Birthday, Violet!

Sorry! I thought her birthday was two weeks ago when the party was! That's why I said Happy Belated Birthday in your picture thread! I don't think there's every been a birthday thread for me or Gemma either. It's just not something we've ever made a big deal of here. It's not that we don't care but just that it's hard to keep track of EVERY important day. And without Michelle as co-host we are slipping on that kind of stuff. She was really great about keeping us on our toes. Please don't leave!

I agree, Michelle was awesome at remembering all that stuff. I am VERY bad at remembering that stuff...in fact, DH and I got married on January 23rd so that I would have the slightest chance at remembering our anniversary (1-23 haha).
I'm sorry there wasn't a thread for Violet. Happy Birthday to her!

I dont think we were ever required to have a happy birthday post - I think the people who get the posts are ppl who make it known its their birthday's. I never get a happy birthday post, neither do my kids, and Im ok with it. I think its a bit insensitive to require a birthday post. JMHO.

Definitely not a requirement, nor do I think it should be. Kind of missing the point. JMHO.
I didn't wake up this morning and think, "There had BETTER be a birthday thread for Violet!" But I do have to say it's ultra-disappointing to see a birthday thread for someone's HUSBAND and we can't even wish our own members and their children a happy birthday. And I'm not the only one that feels this way, you should see my PM box right now - even BEFORE I posted this thread.
Furthermore, it's not like this is the only thing that has swayed me, it's just a good example of an ongoing issue. The sense of community that Grads once held feels gone, and I KNOW I'm not the only one that feels that way.
I guess I just feel like this is a good time to move on. I'm not TTC, I'm not pregnant, and I'm done having kids and now that this board is a shadow of what it once was, there's nothing pulling me here anymore. The women that I've come to know and love I keep in contact with in other ways and I'll continue to do so.
I hate that this comes across as a swan song but I assure you all it is not a cry for attention or anything of that nature. Just me venting frustration and realizing it's time to move on.
PS: My PM inbox was full and rejecting messages! I just cleaned it out so you can try resending. Sorry about that!

I really am sad to see you go. I always enjoy updates of everyone's children and watching them grow. I do not think you need to be TTC or pregnant to continue to be on this board. I do understand the sadness of the board changing. But it will definatley be another blow to the board to have you leave. I have noticed you posting less and less and it truly makes me sad.
