I'm making a hospital bag list and am unsure everything i need. I've heard a lot of women spray stuff "down there" afterwards to help with soreness and also to make urination less painful. Do hospitals carry it or do i need to bring it? I saw this....Earth Mama Angel Baby New Mama Bottom Spray - Earth Mama Angel Baby - Babies "R" Us Should i buy something like that beforehand and take it?

Sorry if this is a silly question. I really just have no idea what to expect!

Most hospitals provide everything. You don't need much anyways!

Are you thinking just for yourself??

You'll just need granny panties, big huge overnightish pads, and a spray bottle (which is given by the hospital, you just put warmish water in it). Atleast that's all I need!

You get mesh panties from them and HUGE humungo pads from them... so you're all covered there

I'm not remember anything else that you'd need! lol my mind is blank.

I used the mesh panties for about a week after Seamus easier to put the larger pads into, and for 4weeks with Kieran (all mine hurt my incision)
They give you a peri bottle (even w/ a c-section, at least mine did w/ K) to fill with warm water to spray down there.

Nose sucker
Diapers
Wipes
Comb (for baby)
Soap(for baby)
Hat
Shirt
Blankets
Big pads (wide and long) and smaller ones(long and thick but skinnier)
3 mesh panties (wash/rinse and hang dry if soiled)
peri bottle
socks/booties for me to use
lotion/chap stick if needed
Rectal thermometer

I brought:
breastpads
nipple shield(I have to use them)
boppy
my clothes to leave with(I dont want to bleed all over my own clothes so i wear hospital gowns while ther)
my own pillow
clothes for baby to leave in and blanket to leave with
shampoo/conditioner
soap and poof
toothbrush and paste
deoderant

The hospital gave me: mesh panties, huge pads, chux pads, pain killing spray for down there (Dermoplast I think), a peri bottle. Then when we left they also told us to take the receiving blankets, baby hats, baby shirts, whatever diapers and wipes were leftover in his drawer. Oh and a nasal apirator.

Our hospital did huge maxi pads, frozen maxi pads with arnica, mesh panties, disposable breastpads, hand towels, diapers and outfits for baby, lansinoh ointment, diaper rash ointment and vaseline, and boppy pillows and a breastpump for use in the hospital.

Mine did not provide hospital gowns, bath towels, or toiletries of any sort.

I never had any spray stuff, but the frozen maxi pads were super for all the swelling and pain.

That reminded me that ours put a pamper diaper that was frozen and they put crushed ice it (i think they riped the back to make it a pocket and filled it with the ice) and I sat on that the first 24hrs after Seamus was born and it was so nice

I over packed and didn't use most the stuff I brought along. One thing that I did use was one of those eye mask covers. I used it when napping because it was too bright even at night time with the lights.

You all are lucky!

Here they request that you bring EVERYTHING!! I think they may have a few supplies on hand for emergencies but our hospitals don't provide you with anything like you guys get in the US.

OMG, That is THE BEST thing ever!!! They gave It to me twice and when I asked for it a 3rd time they said no. I was sad It seriously feels so much better!!! Mine was a Diaper they ripped open and stuff with ice too.

All the stuff they give you for after care you take home with you. They'll even give you extra mesh underwear and pads too. The spray is nice. Definitely cools you down.

Okay good to know! I'll skip on bringing my own spray then. I'll have to check with my hospital and see what all they provide.
