We know that Gem and the new baby are going to have to share a room for a few years. And we know that Gem is super-spoiled and not used to sharing and is still the 'baby', so we decided to make her a 'big girl' room as well as increasing our storage space for baby. We bought a dresser set and then rearranged her room and removed her old dresser. Gem is going to pick out new bedding and a canopy for the bed soon. I want a new rug, too. We will probably add a bunk bed set towards the end of the of my second tri, especially if baby is a girl. We are going to use her little old dresser in the dining room as a changing table for now. So on to pics!
Looking in the door. This is the little dresser. The pink lamp replaced a princess nightlight:
Left wall (from door) with closet and 'big' dresser. The pink thing is a curtain Shane nailed up to make storage for stuffed animals. The flowers and vase Gem picked out:
Right wall (from door) with bed and book case:
Wall with door:
Gem's My Little Pony Rug (this is old and will probably be replaced too):
What do you think? It's hard to believe one day took her room from 'little girl' to 'big girl'!

That's so cute! That's one of the drawbacks to living with my inlaws, I've never been able to do a room (or nursery for that matter) for any of my kids. I can't wait til I can do that!

Thanks everyone! She does love it! She doesn't really play in her room so the pony rug barely gets used. I might move it to the basement. We are going to make a better play area down there where she can keep toys too small to play with around a baby. We will probably wait until we find out the gender to get new bedding since we will probably get matching bedding sets if Sunny is really a girl! I think I'm just as excited as Gem is!
