Like three rows! I was at the post office today and theres this knitting store right beside there so i just swung in and got a knitting book, needles and three balls of yarn. BAM! learned how to knit just like that! ha well i sort of knew already, but i had forgotten, i could knit when i was like 12 but hadn't done it since then.

heather u inspired me! i wanna be able to knit cute little outfits for my future babies, i mean its freezing enough where i live that the kid would need some wooly outfits!

Awww awesome!!!

I can knit, but not nearly as fast as I can crochet so I get frustrated quickly with it!!!! It is very addicting, especially with yummy yarns!

I can't believe you just picked up the supplies and knitted just like that! You must have skills. You gotta post pics of your first project once it is complete!

that would be fun! i know i have seen little knitting clubs and stuff around town, i bet it would be fun to do projects together. we should do an online knitting club, honestly it's not too bad to learn, it took me like 15 min to figure out how to cast on, maybe less.

In the beginning, I always did a swatch just to make sure my guage was right. With different yarn fibers I find that I crochet tighter or looser, so sometimes I need to go down or up a hook size to compensate. Now I can kind of eyeball it as I go...if I am paying attention....

The other night during curling I was making a hat for Nolan and not at all paying attention (it was a repeat pattern) and I looked down and my hat was about 4 inches tall because I was crocheting so tight, teehee.

So I would do it just to get an idea of HOW you knit things and once you get more comfortable with needle sizes and such you can start skipping it. There is nothing worse than going through a good section of a pattern, looking at it and going...ugh...too small/too big.
