did you decide on bc?Decided the mini pill wasn't gonna fly with me and I definitely have no interest in an IUD. So for now the plan is to continue EBFing and hope that keeps me from Oing, and then I bought that VCF film and I'm gonna make him pull out too!

did you give lily her first bottle? We did! She was like 4w2d old I think when we gave it to her. We had been out shopping all afternoon and so she hadn't eaten in a couple hours and I knew when she woke up she'd be hungry. So when we got home I pumped 2.5 ounces and put it in the breastflow bottle. Ben woke her up, changed her diaper and sat down in the glider to feed her. That little stink didn't even hesitate -- she just grabbed it and went to! Ben was so happy and I was a little heartbroken there was no struggle at all. haha. Naturally I want her to be able to take a bottle with no issues but I would have liked her to be at least a LITTLE resistant. haha. We haven't given her one since though and we probably need to. Here's a couple pics of the 'big event'-

& then right after -

did you call your doc about the pain you've been having? (saw your other post) No, I didn't call. I intended to but then medicaid called that day before I got a chance and said that since everything was done that I no longer had it... so I figured if I called the dr and they said to come in, I wouldn't anyway b/c of no insurance so I just didn't bother. It hasn't been AS bad as it was the couple days leading up to that post... not with the screaming and constant pain - but I need to go now and am putting it off b/c I'm scared.

are you bed sharing or using your co-sleeper? bedsharing. We have a crib, a bassienet that was my cousin's, a pack & play with the bassinet thing, and then a 'secure sleeper' that's like a little bed that goes in your bed... and she won't sleep in any of them, she wants to be snuggled in my arms. I always try to get her to sleep in the little 'box' (secure sleeper) but after like the third or so time she cries I just snuggle her. Every few nights she'll go for a long stretch in it, but definitely not consistently. I don't really mind though... but I'm a stomach sleeper and sure would like to get a good long stretch in on my stomach sometime. Ben is sleeping in the other room b/c he's not comfortable with her in the bed.

did ben get to switch his shift yet? No, he's waiting until his quarterly review to talk to them about it I think. But honestly I've found a silver lining! I am totally 100% on Lily's schedule. Since I'm not going back to work I have no reason not to follow whatever schedule works for her right now. So since Ben comes home at midnight, we like to stay up late and watch a movie or something when he gets off and don't normally go to bed until like 3 or 4. So Lily and I will stay in bed til like noon or so. And I think I would be more aware of how often she's waking up, or that she's not on some kind of schedule or something if he were working "normal" hours. But I just kind of go with the flow and I dont' worry about it, and I think that would be harder to do if I were on a normal schedule. Like, when she wakes up at 7 or ten to feed or something its a normal time for people to be awake so I don't feel like its terrible. But for someone else who is 'normal' I bet those 2 or 4 am feedings FEEL really gross. Psychological I guess. Either way I'm not really minding Ben's weird schedule, although if he could be switch I'd totally want him to!

Aren't you cloth diapering??? Hows that going??? It's not going at all! I have a complete CD stash and we don't even use it! In the beginning, we planned on using the NB diapers we had left over from the hospital. Ben had the first week off so he literally did like every single diaper change... and he didn't want to mess with cloth so I wasn't sweatin' it. Then he just kept buying sposies and we just kept using them. When he went back to work I put her in a KL0 w/ a cover and just wasn't feeling it. I never thought about how wet they were when you take them off. Like you're touching pee. It's not that its that gross, but it does feel like more of a hassle when with a sposie you don't. So as long as he's buying sposies and putting them in her room... I'm using them. I hate the way they smell so chemically though! And I'm sure I'd be having a heart attack if I saw how much they cost so I'm choosing to stay ignorant for right now. It really surprised me how much I'm not wanting to cloth diaper now that she is here. I was SO EXCITED to CD while I was pregnant. I had more dreams about putting teenie tiny KL0's on my new baby than I had about my actual baby! No joke! And now I just totally don't care. I'm not going to sell my stash yet though because I imagine if we have a diaper rash or something it'll come in handy and maybe I'll change my mind. But so far I just don't really care about CDing!

Shannon, I know just how you feel about her taking the bottle and feeling a little heartbroken over it. Oliver did the same thing. He took it with no problem while I felt cheated on! lol... The pictures of her are adorable. She is all dressed up with her headband. Looking at your pictures made me realize that we do not have ONE single picture of Oliver drinking from a bottle. I never thought about it until seeing Lily's bottle pictures. Now I feel a tad sad that we never captured the moment.

Have you looked down there with a mirror to see what things look like? What about putting some olive oil or something down there to help stretch things out when going? It might sound a little gross but it could happen! Ever since I had Oliver it's almost always painful for me to go but it's caused by something else I think. I can understand your pain a little bit. Don't be scared because I don't think it's something serious. I'm sure it all related to healing and sometimes it takes a lot longer than we think it should. It crazy what having a child can do to our bodies. I came down with some awful skin disease down there and I'm positive it happened because of having a baby with the hormone changes.

It's funny but kinda of frusterating how we plan and buy all these sleeping devices and then end up bedsharing. We got the crib, mini cosleeper, the bed cosleeper insert thing, and a pack n play. What a total waste of money. At least the pack n play is being used by the baby boy I watch, the crib is oliver's toddler play bed, I sold the mini cosleep for what I bought it for, and returned the in bed cosleeper thing. I love bed sharing. It makes it easier on us for sure. I'll be sad when he is ready to sleep on his own. Oh and Damon sleeps in the other room too and has forever. At first he didn't feel safe like Ben and now he just doesn't think he would get good sleep. Oliver takes up most of our queen size bed.

Glad to hear your not minding Ben's schedule so much. I guess when you have a newborn day and night time are all mixed up together. It does help that your a SAHM so you don't have to worry too much about it.

I'm totally surprised that your not feeling the CD. It actually made me feel a tad bit better about not enjoying CD anymore. I was so into it the first 9 to 12 months and now I'm so over it. The older they get the stronger the pee smells and they really smell strong in the morning after peeing all night. Plus the do feel the wetness even though Oliver never complained. I hate spending money on disposables but we only have 4 AIO that fit and I don't want to spend more money on CD and not like them. What brand are you using? Have Ben pick up the Target brand if you have not tried them! They cost a lot less than the name brand ones, the don't smell of frangrance which bothers me, and they are cute with polk a dots! They still have chemicals in them and that also bothers me but I'm trying not to think about it. At least you can sell your stash in the future once you are totally done with them. Maybe I will want to buy some off of you by then if we get pregant with a girl!

Glad things are going well and she took kindly to the bottle.

Was there a hassle when switching back to the boobs?

The pics are gorgeous.

I bought some CD's, not too much though, to use for when Lani gets here to try them out. I hope I can stick with it, but that might not be the case lol. We shall see.

Lily is sooo spoiled! I love it!
