Well, the rumor is true.. If you cut your baby's hair, it will grow back faster and thicker!
My 4 month old son got his first fade about a month ago and it's already getting a little long! We originally got it cut because he had really bad cradle cap and made a couple of bald spots on the side of his head.. I wanted to clean it up so we got it cut so it would look even.. Today I noticed that his bald spots are now blended in with the rest of his hair and I'm guessing in a week or two, he'll need another cut.. I never knew it could grow so quickly..
Anyone else have this problem?

Just piping in from experience I'm a licensed hair stylist and that honestly isn't true. Your hair grows from your scalp, not the ends. The reason it looks like it grows back faster is because you've cut it so short and it's more noticeable than before. Hair grows, on average, a 1/2 inch per month so since it's been a month since he had a hair cut, it should be starting to get longer and that's why guys get hair cuts every 6-8 weeks... that's considered normal. Especially with a fade Luckily, it's hidden more on women or we'd be getting our hair cut every 6 weeks too (ok, well unless you have a shorter style you need to keep up with. THEN you need to go every 4-6 weeks LoL!)

When Miki was younger, her mom had to cut her hair b/c she used black rubberbands in here hair and it broke it off. it took a while for her hair to grow back.
Maybe you just have fast growing hair genes in your family lol

We need pics! Glad his hair is lookin good with the cut.
I am debating when to get Matthew' first haircut. I love his little baby hair, I'm gonna be so sad when it gets cut but I don't want a mullet haired baby either!

I'm sorry I haven't posted pictures in a while.. My little man has been battling severe eczema and I don't think you want to see him suffering..
Here's a few pictures of my little man eczema free.. His hair is always a hit with people when we are out in public.
Here's my son's hair before the hair cut.. His hair was all crazy.. lol
During his hair cut..
The salon gave me this cool keepsake and a small packet of his hair
and his hair now

Your right.. I'm just not use to getting a "fade" on a boy.. I know nothing about boy cuts.. What was funny is my DH laughed at me when the stylist asked if I wanted a 1 or a 1 1/2.. I gave the deer in the head light look.. Kinda like this --> lol.. I did ask my DH how often he cuts his hair, he gets his done every 3-4 weeks.. His hair grows so fast and its super thick.. Maybe my boy got his hair gene.. lol
I do have a question for you.. What type of clippers would you recommend for home use? My DH wants to cut A.J's hair.. Price isn't a factor.. I want the best and something that will last a long time..

He is a cutie! He has great hair.
Sorry to hear he has eczema. Matthew has a couple bad spots and I've had to use steroid creams a couple times to clear them up, they itched so much and that was the only thing that cleared them up for him.

aww.. Thank you.. I'm glad Matthew's eczema cleared up with a few doses of steroid cream.. A.J's been on steroid cream on and off for about a month now.. I had to go to a Dermatologist for help, the Peds just told me he'll grow out of it and told me to just give him Benadryl.. Yea right.. Like I'm going to see my baby suffer for months.. Luckily, my DH has wonderful insurance and I can go to a specialist without a referral.. Due to his eczema and constant scratching, he's already had a eye infection and a infection on his head from scratching the cradle cap which was weeping clear yellow liquid.. It's been a long road, but it looks like we are finally seeing the end of the tunnel.. Oh and his hair made it difficult to treat the cradle cap on his head, but I refused to give him a buzz cut..

Thank you for your kind comments.. I should have taken more off the top when they cut A.J's hair, but I didn't want to cut off A.J's light brown high lights.. I know, sound funny huh? But my son has high lights in his hair.. lol
Cambria is vary beautiful.. Her eyes are stunning and it looks like she's going to have beautiful hair as well.. You make beautiful babies too...

I would go to Sallys Beauty Supply (or any type of beauty supply store you can get in without a license because Wal Mart's clippers are HORRIBLE and pull the hair a lot) and looks for Andis or Wahl. Those are the 2 I've used and they're aren't horrible expensive but cut real well
