I don't know if I was oblivious with Gemma or if I just didn't have the hormonal swings I have this time but I just had my first definitive meltdown!

I had to go get some more craft supplies for two etsy orders I have plus go get my quad marker screening bloodwork done. Shane and I tore apart the kitchen last night and he and his dad were putting in the new cabinets today so I left Gem here with them. I went to the hospital for my bloodwork and waited 90 minutes to get one tube of blood drawn. By then it was already lunch time and I was starving. Shane texted me and asked me to bring home McDonalds for everyone. I had an instantaneous, super-strong craving for their new sweet chili sauce so I agreed. I went to Target and picked up my supplies and then stopped through the drive-thru.

I got home and we sat down to eat and there was NO sauce! I ate one nugget sauce-less and then just couldn't eat anymore. I HAD to have the sweet chili sauce. So I picked up my receipt and drove back to the McDonalds. I walked in and asked for a manager. The 'manager' came up and she had to have been 18-20 at MOST. I tried to explain that I HAD to have my chili sauce and I could just see she didn't get it. I exploded in tears and she started yelling at me, telling me 'there's no reason to get upset'! She basically threw a bag at me so I scooped it up and left. I got in my truck and opened the bag and it was sweet and sour sauce, NOT sweet chili sauce! I was so mad and upset by that point that I practically ran back in. I slipped on the wet floor and landed right on my azz in front of the WHOLE staff. Yet not a single one of them came to help me up or asked if I was okay. I exploded in tears again and demanded the right sauce. I finally got a bag of my sauce and made it home. By the time I got back home my nuggets were cold and I barely tasted the sauce anyway. I called the 800# and complained but the lady pretty much acted like I was a psycho pregnant lady too. After that I just broke down completely. I sobbed like a baby for probably 5 minutes while Shane held me and his dad tried to tell me it's okay.

I'm so done with McDonalds! I can't believe I let some idiotic teen on a power trip get that kind of reaction out of me! Plus my orders are never right! The last time we had no utensils or dressing for my salad, the time before they gave Gem a BOY'S toy... It just never ends. Poor Gem is going to have to forfeit her favorite eat-out treat because I am fed up!

If you made it this far, thanks for reading. This pregnancy might just be the death of me (or a McDonalds employee)!

Don't beat yourself! Girl, I had a meltdown Friday evening to my DH about how I look and feel so fat...not pregnant, but fat! I mean, it started off with my telling him I needed to vent for a minute, then I just lost it and sobbed for like 5 minutes.
All you can do is just blow it off and move on....have a GREAT cry if you need to, there is nothing wrong with that.

If it makes you feel any better, Sara - that's something I would totally cry about now or even before I ever got pregnant. I eat food for condiments. And I totally cry about food like, on a regular basis. You get so few eating opportunities each day you just don't want them to be messed up. haha. I went to mcdonald's to get chicken nuggets and asked for the new chili sauce stuff (saw the commercial on tv for it) and got home and it wass sweet & sour sauce. I was disappointed, but that's what I normally use so it was fine. They're discontinuing it now that the olympics are over anyway so I'm probably better off not knowing/missing what I can't have. But your post did make me want to go get some. lol

Was there a wet floor sign anywhere near?

Man I'd sue them! You'd win too b/c you're pregnant. No matter how hormonal you are.

Definitely dont go back to that McDonalds.

I understand what you're going through though. I cried my eyes out once b/c Will took the car that had my purse (with money and credit cards in it) in it and I wanted IHOP sooo bad. I cried so hard b/c I could taste the pancakes lol. That was so funny looking back.

Oh Sara that sounds awful! And I'm sorry but it is a bit comical as and outsider looking in, but I would have been super upset too. I wonder if she gave you the wrong sauce on purpose. I HATE it when I get home from somewhere and my order isn't right. I'm surprised the 800 number people weren't more understanding.

I had to giggle at this because I have a list (literally, a list) of things to keep me positive about "still" being pregnant and one of the things on my list is that I could get chicken nuggets after my 40 week appointment today. And I just finished eating them with the sauce, hehe.

I got nuggets for dinner tonight. and I ate them with the sweet chili sauce. and MAN if that were around in my first trimester I think that's all I would have ever eaten b/c I craved spicy things and that has a little bit of a kick to it... I mean nothing like hot, but it did have some nice flavor compared to the other sauce choices!
