I love my MIL, she treats me like her own daughter and tells me all the time she thinks of my like her daughter. Her own daughter is kind of a mess and I think she likes having a "daughter figure" who's got it together. She does so much for me/us and I am so grateful for her and FIL.

Yes VERY! I'm extremely lucky to have wonderful in laws. I really think it helps that hubby has a great relationship with them but still stands up for what WE want as parents. They go with what we want and don't say anything bad lol. I think for the majority they agree with us anyways... atleast they don't say boo about it haha
My MIL even CDs when she baby sits them, unless they go over to her house then she buys her own sposies!! haha.

Most of the time.
DBF's family is very conservative and religious so very different from my family. They have this whole 'happy family' thing going on, where nothing bad is ever discussed, it's always just swept under the carpet. I find it very frustrating.
DBF's SIL (person married to his brother), I can't stand.
