Krista... I feel your pain!!!

A friend of mine (male) and I were talking about the cost of a baby and diapers and formula and daycare. I told him that I was goign to breastfeed and he was like "SHYT I wanna see how long that lasts". I said "Until she's about 1". He said "Well see once u see how much she'll be up because she hungry, breast milk dont stay with them that long". So I told him "I'm fully aware" and then said "If a pregnant woman say she's going to do something and you dont agree, dont say anything.. Keep your unsupportive comments to yourself"

He's like "I'm telling you from experience, not disagreeing with you". I said "I'm not your baby's mother, so keep your experience to yourself unless asked!"

That just pissed me off! some people dont know what to say out of their mouth.

I would have totally told him something like, "Well maybe your baby's mama just wasn't committed enough. Maybe it's time for a paternity test, too!" I mean, imagine if you said something like, "OMG! You will never make management. Just wait until you see how much paperwork and late nights it takes." That guy would probably be pissed and get really upset. So why are we all more capable of working a job 60 hours a week than taking care of our own babies?!

Ugh, all these rude comments I am reading just make me really upset. I hate it when people just want to share all the negative opinions and comments with us!

UGGGH! I EBF Rylie and got more sleep with her than I ever got with Taylor and Taylor was FF! Just because he think he has the right answer doesn't mean it'll be right for your baby

Glad you told him how its gonna be Chel! I got the worst of the worst comments from my MIL. She apparently hadn't even heard of BFing and wasn't aware of it until she started lactating with her first, yet she felt the need to always tell me how hard it will be and how I don't know what I'm getting myself into. She also wass sure to tell me its gross and that I'll probably smother my baby because my boobs are too big. People are idiots.

And seriously, I LOVE BFing. It's like my favorite part. Nothing beats knowing that I've provided all of her nourishment. I love looking down and seeing her staring up in my eyes. I love when she falls asleep at the boob and has her little milk drunk sleepy smiles. Its just the best and even though our BFing relationship has just begun I already feel like I'm going to miss this time together.

We bed-share and I absolutely get more sleep than if I were FF. I'm done nursing her by the time I'd be finisshed getting up and making her a bottle. I really think that BFing is the 'easier' route... sure no one can 'help' me do it but I'm not washing bottles and buying formula and doing all of that mess either.

I just went off on a huge rant in Krista's thread but man people are SO annoying with their comments. Just ignore that guy. He sucks. And you know, his wife had to go through all of the ridiculous comments too when she wass pregnant so what the hell is the matter with her for not teaching him to know better?!

I'll take a "You'll see" anyday. At least then I can say "Yep, surely will" and go about my business.

Its just so upsetting sometimes. Glad I can blame my responses on hormones lol

HAha, good for you! I always wanted to say something like, "you only had that problem because you suck/are a bad parent/are inbred/are ugly" Hahaha. Sorry you had to deal with the dumb comments. To me it is the second to worst thing about pregnancy.

Argh! I would hav been ticked off. First off babies are not expensive if you CD and BF! It's just the start up costs and that can be cheap or expensive depending on what you want.

BF is the best thing ever and the best thing I've done in my life. THere are so many things that I love about it. I could care less about loosing sleep over it.

Edited to say not the best thing I've done in my life because that would be having Oliver. But it's one of the best things because of the wonderful bond.

Have you read "So That's What They're For" ?? I totally recommend that book on BFing. It gave me a lot of confidence and taught me a lot of things I didn't know about BFing. It'll also arm you with a lot of 'quick fixes' for problems that seem to cause a lot of other mamas to give up. Knowledge is power & all that jazz!
