I did for my bridal shower.... I bought them small (like sample size) lotions/body sprays from bath and body works! I haven't really thought about for my baby shower but I'm sure I'll find something to do to thank them!

For baby showers, since some are surprises and you're not suppose to have any involvement in the planning, no. Just a personal thank you during the shower will suffice. I've asked many a people this.

I did! I figured they went through all the trouble of planning, coordinating, buying food, opening their home up, it was the least I could do!!!!

I did 2 gift bags (one for my MIL and one for her friend who hosted it at her home). I had some handmade soaps that I got from etsy (full bar soaps) that are SOOOOO nice, some purse-sized hand sanitizers, lip gloss, a thank you card...I think that was all I had in there. Nothing too crazy but just a little something to express my gratitude!

I didn't, but I believe my MIL did or else took her out for lunch/dinner. My MIL planned it with the help of a friend and we had it at her friend's house. They hosted my engagement party as well I'm so blessed.

Anyways, I think it's a nice gesture for sure!

My mom and my sisters threw mine. Since they're all people that have everything they need I didn't want to buy them something they'd never use. So I got them each a little box of fancy chocolates from a small candy shop and they all loooooved them! Of course, then my niece was mad because I didn't get her one and she "helped clean." I don't think she got that it was a hostess gift. lol.

I sent out thank you cards to everyone. I never thought about getting my SIL and MIL a gift for hosting the party.

I had two showers - one was hosted by a big meanie poop head and the other by my mother-in-law. I bought both of them a gift and gave my MIL hers, but I kept the big meanie poop head's gift because she acted like a complete idiot at the shower and I didn't particularly feel like rewarding her atrocious behavior.

We don't have baby showers here but if I did get one I think I would get the host a little something or at least take them out for lunch.
