I found the MAGIC potion!!! I finally got the smelly funk out of my couch. And I'm so flippin' excited how cheap and green it is that I have to share!

In a big bucket (cause of the chemical reactions):
2 cups baking soda
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup soap flakes (detergent)
2 cup very warm water

Using a rag, spread it all over stinky upholstery (be careful to not saturate). Wait an hour. Smell is GONE!!!! There's alittle bit of white flakes that may need to be vacuumed in some areas.

I was very surprised that the vinegar didn't leave a "perfume." Oh and I suggest wearing rubber gloves because it can be strong. I'm actually allergic to the flakes I used (Ivory snow) and while my hands were fine, I managed to drip it all down my arm. So my arm is on fire but I'm still happy!

I talked to him. He didn't really say much in return. But at least I told him and apologized

Well, I didn't ask him if he heard or not. I just said I was sorry but having to tell him about the smell. And that he is an awesome uncle.

My stepmom use to care for alot of animals and I asked her advice. She used the same recipe to get rid of cat urine.

I might have to use this on the nursery rocker my grandma gave me before she passed... my brother has been living in her house alone and there is no telling what he has done to the place and how it might smell.

I'm glad you got the funk out!

I use a similar recipe to clean with at home. We do the baking soda (Arm & Hammer), vinegar and warm water. It's great to mop the floors. Just don't use too much baking soda or the floors with feel sandy/dusty or you can do a second mopping after with just water.
