Sooo... I was thinking, if we start TTC again this next cycle, and I fall pregnant straight away like I did last time... That would make my due date Xmas day.

My best friend has Xmas day as her birthday, and I have a number of other friends who are all born within a day or two of Xmas... and they all HATE it! They say noone remembers their birthdays as it's always about 'family' and stuff, never them. Also, it's such crazy time of year anyway.

So, that got me thinking... we may end up not trying next cycle anyway, as DBF will be overseas for work, so it might be taken out of our hands! But is there anyone here who will be taking a month off, so they are not due in December?

With all my genetic issues that are going on, I hate the idea of missing a month, so don't think we will, if DBF IS in the country...

Sorry, just rambling...!

Yeah, I don't think I would try NOT to conceive just because of the EDD. I was born December 27th and my family just had a party for me in the summer so that I wasn't left out. I got gifts both times so I was never really resentful of my birthday and now that I'm older I really don't care anymore at all.

I would skip due dates that would land me in Dec, Jan, and Feb. I prefer to have a baby in the warmer months and avoid the marriage holiday month.

I had Gem in March and there was still snow on the ground. It really didn't bother me. I really just wanted to stay in those first few weeks/months anyhow. I'm more afraid of having a summer baby this time and having to worry about sunburn/bugs/taking baby out to pool & BBQ parties/etc.

I wouldn't skip just because of a holiday. Liam came 3 weeks early which landed his birthday just a few days after Christmas. We just make a conscious effort to make his birthday its own special day. His birthday party we do the week after and don't combine Christmas presents with birthday presents. We also make sure he's the only one opening presents that day. Those family members we didn't see over Christmas that have presents for the rest of us we just hold off on opening those til the next day. You can definitely make it work and still make the birthday special and not just a continuation of Christmas.

I think we would have tried to skip Jan. I'm not sure though, maybe not. But I wouldn't have skipped Dec.

The only reason for skipping Jan is because the boys were born 14, and 25. But I think James would have wanted to try anyways. Haha.

normally I would say yes, but I know what having a birthday close to Christmas is like and I'd rather not have that for my kids. even if it does mean missing out a month. although for now i'm still waiting on AF even if it started tomorrow I'd be due mid-december.

We've been ntnp, but will be preventing for now because we don't want a Dec baby. The idea is sort of moot though because I have not had my first pp period yet.

Not too keen on a Jan or Feb baby either. There's at least a foot of snow on the ground over here during those months. While I love my October baby, I would really like a spring or summer one this time around.

As much as I know my little brothers HATE having a birthday around Christmas (honestly their birthday always does get downplayed because of all the holiday running around and stuff- and alot of times people say "oh thats your christmas AND birthday gift) and it makes me feel SOOOO bad for them. At this point im not going to stop just because of it. I'll make sure to make my child's birthday extremely important no matter what.

I wouldn't skip. I'd keep trying just in case this is the month when my body decides to produce the wonderful perfect eggie. But I do understand why you would consider skipping.
