Just thought I would update you girls! We applied for our marriage license Monday. It was a HUGE pain! Shane only had a copy of his divorce decree because SHE filed. The marriage license bureau place wouldn't accept that, they have to have the one with the raised seal. So Shane had to drive to the next county over, pay even MORE money and get the 'raised seal' copy, and then drive back. The worst part was: It's a friggin gold STICKER! i could have bought one at Wal-Mart! I finally picked up our license Thursday!
So I called today and found a District Justice that will marry us March 22nd!! Now I am in major rush, crazy planning mode! I talked to the photographer friend I have and she is okay with doing our pics that day. I just have to wait and see the weather forecast so we can pick a place! (So now I have to finish her diapers like THIS WEEK! OMG!) Gemma and I already have our dresses/shoes/jewelry/etc so I ran out real quick to find a veil or something. We picked out rhinestone tiara/headbands for both of us (no real veil for me). Then I let her pick out a flower girl basket and bought some floral foam and fake flowers for it. Then we drove over to the florist and I ordered a bouquet for me (it was only $42! SCORE!!!). I will have to call them because I forgot to ask if we can get a single flower for a buttoneire (sp?) for Shane. Otherwise I will just run through the grocery store that morning and snap off a flower. I scheduled his tux fitting for tomorrow (I even picked one out for him so they have it ready but he doesn't know that yet! ).
I got a ring bearer pillow, now if only I had a ring bearer! I need to borrow someone's little boy that day! I also got a garter just because I thought it would be a nice keepsake. I stopped at the salon across the street from the MDJ office we're getting married at but they don't open until AFTER our wedding time so I guess Gem and I are doing our own hair. I'm so afraid it will look horrible! I suck at hair! (Any pics/ideas for easy hair that looks good?) I'm debating getting my nails done a couple days before the wedding. And I think I'm going to run up to see my friend who works at a make up booth for make up tips for the big day.
So that's where we stand as of right now! Now I just need to get rid of my pregnancy acne and greasy hair and skin! Does anyone know how dangerous it would be to use a whitener on my teeth during pregnancy? I hate how yellow my teeth look lately but I am afraid to whiten them. Hints, tips, anything missing? Thanks ladies!

Goodness woman! You sound like you are good at this. As far as hair is concerned... whenever someone else does my hair I never like it. I didn't like my hair on my wedding day, I think I could have done a better job. I suck at hair too and my default is always barrel curls, you can't really screw that up (not very easily anyway)... but your hair is much shorter than mine so I don't know if that would work. BAH! I'm no help. Sorry. Where's Lisa, isn't she a licensed beautician? Maybe she could give you ideas!
Anyway, how exciting!! 10 days!

How exciting! I cannot wait to see the pictures! Sounds like it is going to be a pretty ceremony
Also, if you wanted to save a little bit of money, I got my bouquet for our quick ceremony at Kroger's (grocery store). I picked out a $10 bunch of pretty white tea roses, and the woman there prettified it even more for me for free. But $42 for a florist is a major deal!
Congrats!!!!

Gemma picked out pink and purple and white flowers for her flower girl basket so I asked the lady at the florist to do mostly white with hints of pink and purple so we're matchy-matchy. $42 is fine with me. I expected to pay like $5-6K for our wedding next year so getting away under $1,000 is awesome. I have to sit down and figure out exactly how much we've spent on this wedding because I bet we're under $750!
I'm dying of excitement! We are doing our photos at a mansion so they are going to be incredible! Now I need to get off my lazy butt and do homework, get Gem a bath and in bed and look at hair styles and make up ideas! I'm going to have to do my hair and make up every day from now until the wedding to figure out what I like! I will post some pics when I start messing around for critique!

Is there anyway that you can get your hair done the day before and just kind of sleep.
but you do seem like you have a good handle on this tho.

I'm going to call the one salon I like in the mall in the morning. If they open at like 8AM or something I might be able to get in, get done and get out. Maybe even get my make up done there.
I'm thinking:
8-9AM hair for me and Gem
9-9:30AM make up (then drive home)
10AM get into dress at home
10:30AM pick up bouquet
11AM get married
12PM lunch
1PM pics
We'll see if it's doable or not!

Oh and I think I am just going to get a DIY french manicure kit and do my nails the night before the wedding. No one will know the difference I don't think. If I hadn't snapped off a nail at work yesterday I would just fix up my own. *sigh*
I'm going to make an appointment to get my brows waxed mid-week and call my make up artist friend to get an appointment with her, too, for ideas. So, hair/brows/makeup/nails should be taken care of, scheduled, whatever tomorrow. And Shane will get fitted for his tux tomorrow too. I'm going to call our pic venue to see if we can take any indoor pics too. Can you think of anything I'm missing? I need to make sure Shane gets a pro hair cut, too. I usually cut his hair. LOL.
Oh and my wedding bag list:
safety pins, bobby pins, brush, our rings and the pillow, Gem's flower basket, a sticky roller, makeup for touch-ups, the diapers I promised my photographer, our drivers licenses, mini sewing kit, gum/mints, deoderant, digi camera. Anything missing?
Thanks girls!

I haven't talked to my sister since she basically told me that I'm the bad mom and that she wasn't wrong for running off to WV with some guy she's never met and taking my nephew. So she doesn't even know we've moved the wedding up or anything unless someone else told her. Otherwise I would borrow Damien but oh well.
Sarah, thanks! I will have to youtube wedding make up and wedding hair! I can't believe in exactly 9 days I will be getting married! Every morning is going to be super scary/exciting for me now!

woohoo!!! I remember trying to get my name changed with my marriage certificate. They forgot to "raise the seal" on ours. They almost wouldn't accept it. I almost started crying, saying "This is all they gave me!!!" Then they allowed it lol.
For the teeth i would suggest crest white strips!
