Alright, middle name has been set in stone since well before we conceived this little girl, and it is Jaelynn. It is a combination between my grandfather's name, J (a family name), and my father's name, Lynn. It isn't pronounced as one might expect with the emphasis on Jae, but more like two separate names... think like Joli in Angelina Joli. I was going to spell it J'lynn, but that's too complicated!

Anyway, with that being said, which do you like best? These are the favorites from my list... DH is still coming up with names. And yes... I know my taste in names is a bit old fashioned!

And if one of the names strikes you strongly positively or negatively, please tell me how! Please share any immediate impressions or thoughts any of them give you (positive or negative).

What great choices! I love every single one! It was hard to choose by which name I like best, so I had to go with what I think sounds best, which is Charlotte Jaelynn.

Ooh, I love your name list! I voted for Charlotte. I think it's a beautiful, classic name but it's not used too often. I also think it "fits" you guys - it just felt like your daughter's name

I really, truly like all of the other names too. I guess I chose Charlotte because it seemed to fit the best with you guys- if that makes sense. lol.

Ok you asked for my impressions, so hopefully I don't offend. Really, I think any will be beautiful if you pick them b/c your baby will undoubtedly be gorgeous

I picked Dahlia because I like it. It is unique even though I have heard it before, and it sounds fresh and not frumpy.

Charlotte - frumpy. It reminds me of an unsavory shade of green. Haha that sound horrible, but if you choose it I think it will be beautiful as a name for your baby. But overall I don't care for it at all. I am not a fan of "CH" that sounds like "SH" in the beginning of names.

Alana - too many A's. I dunno. My jaw moves up and down a lot when I say it, lol

Lorelei - This actually sounds prettier and prettier the more I say it. I like it!

Scarlett - I don't like how the word scar is in it. That's just me though. I feel like if it were me I would try to shorten it into a nickname and end up calling her scar, lol

I don't know about you, but I didn't worry about matching middle and first names. The only time we say Jack's full name is when DH does b/c Jack pulls his hair and won't let or something. I always thought of middle names as being about meaning, and first names are how they will represent themselves for the rest of their lives.

I would like to note that we have a girls name picked out that I am sure a lot of people would hate, but since we like it so much it doesn't matter

I love all of your first names, but not with the middle name. I like the middle name, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't sound quite right if you have a first name that also has an "l" in it. Not that I'm suggesting this, but say Amanda Jaelynn outloud and then say Alana or Lorelei Jaelynn - too many "l" sounds in the latter, ya know?

That being said, I voted for Charlotte because it's my favorite city and if we hadn't lived there, it's very possible one of my girls would have been named that.

Kate -- you just made me realize every single one of my first name choices have an L in them... weird.

Thank you for all of your opinions, both positive and negative ones! Please keep them coming!

First off, TBH I think the way the first and last name flows is MORE important than how the first and middle name flows. Since first and last will be primarily what is said. So since I don't know your last name I just picked which first name I liked best, which is Charlotte. Like one of the pp, I also think that name just seems to "fit" you guys. If I had to pick a second choice it would be Alana.

Oh and Michelle I think if you were nick naming a girl named Scarlett, you'd probably go with Letty rather than Scar.

Charlotte - all the way! LOVE IT!!! That was a choice for Nora's name because my my maternal grandmothers middle name is Charlotte....its classically beautiful...I LOVE old classic names for little ones - its just adorable! I have a client whose second daughter is Hattie and its so freakin' cute! Anyway - I know you are definitely going with the middle name becuase of the family thing - which I love because we did that with all four names for our kids (first and middle) but the classic thing doesn't go with the Jaelynn which sounds more modern to me....just my opinion. But you hardly ever hear a childs whole name together....so def Charlotte. I like Scarlett too as my second choice. The others I am not crazy about.

I'm trying to decide between Alana and Charlotte. I like Alana and I think it flows better with the second name but Charlotte is a pretty name too.

Good luck with your choices.

Michelle, you sure give an interesting spin on things.

I like Dahlia better with Jaelynn. But honestly I like Jaelynn as a 1st name (but not with Dahlia as a middle name). All of the other 1st names are good as middle names.

Thats just my opinion though.

Okay....I picked Alana Jaelynn because I think it flows off the tongue smoothly where the others don't. I love all the names you choose, but I think Alana and Jaelynn rolls well where everything else feels like a mouth full!

yeah crazy people usually do

I tired to get my DH on my side b/c I was surprised so many people like Charlotte. He disagreed with me. I knew a girl named Charlotte in Jr high that smelled like gross cheese and was really weird. Not in the, you feel sorry for her kind of way. In the, let's get away from her kinda way. You know how kids are. Anyways, that was the only Charlotte I ever knew so that could be why I dislike the name.

Oh and what of Charlottes Web!! You want to name her after a talking spider??! I named Jack after some punk kid that killed a giant, which I am sure would piss a giant off. If they existed. Don't know what I was thinking.

OKAY I am going to play wii sports now b/c I am obviously bored. Krista, which ones does your DH prefer?
