I read this woman's blog and her husband has a translocation. Not sure on the type or anything or if it is comparable to what you have, but even with PGD she still went through several rounds of ivf that ended in miscarriage. I don't say this to discourage you, I am just wondering what your Dr said the odds are that the ivf with PGD will result in a healthy pregnancy if the baby implants? I thought the PGD assures that everything will be normal, but in this other woman's case I guess it didn't?

She did end up getting pregnant and delivering with twins, btw. I can share her blog link if you like.

As they now know I have this disorder, I will be considered high risk and will be able to have the CVS procedure at 11 weeks (I had it at 13 weeks 6 days last time). This is because it will take that long for the placenta to be developed enough for them to remove cells from it. If the placenta isn't in a good position and they can't do the procedure, then I'd have to wait until 16 weeks when I'd have an amnio.

I would love to read that, so yes, please share the link. All the info I can gather before our next appointment will be really useful.

Nope, I don't think IVF with PGD means a healthy baby. Obviously there will still be the chance of miscarriage or even no implantation. I'll have to remember to ask what the percentages are on a healthy baby with IVF with PGD.

I keep trying to put myself in your position and trying to make a decision and I end up feeling so heartbroken. At 11 weeks I already felt such a strong bond with my little blob. You are so strong and courageous to share this whole experience with us. I'm sure it cannot be easy. I'm wish you success the fastest route possible.

Here are some posts I found by searching her blog. Some of them have info I am sure you know, but she talks about a lot of things I imagine would be helpful. I bet if you contacted her she would be helpful too - she is very nice. I believe she has done natural, ivf, icis, & PGD cycles. Her first son was a natural cycle baby.
