He was asleep in his bed by 8:30 and I didn't hear from him until 1:30!!!!!! That's the longest yet in his 14 months of life haha. Then he went right back to sleep after drinking some milk. He woke up for the day at 6:30. I tried to get him back to sleep but he was just wide awake. So that's only ONE time he woke up.

It is SO awesome.

Also, today is the day that we find out for 100% sure if my in laws house sells I believe. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers! I've been looking for a new place for us but not having much luck, hopefully soon!

That is awesome! I hope he keeps it up. Jack slept through the night last night too, so it looks like to poor sleepers may be taking a turn for the better. Woo-hoo!

WTG Jack!

Did you do anything differently??

I found recently that Dustin is falling asleep while just cuddling or just laying by himself alot easier. I think he's learning to self sooth. He also doesn't wake up screaming bloody murder in his crib! He wakes up just asking for me (I'm sure you know what i mean about the difference in the cries?). So I think we are taking steps in the right direction

Yeah Jack is a little cuddlebug too. For bedtime the only thing I think we started doing differently was being more consistent. So for naps he goes straight in the crib with his aquarium toy on, and for bedtime I make sure he has had a lot of food, and then I hold him in the glider chair in his room until he rests his head on my shoulder and doesn't squirm at all. Then when he is asleep or almost there, I put him down. Books say don't hold them until they are asleep, but if I do he sttn! So the books can go suck it He usually wakes up when I lay him down, puts his hands underneath him (he sleeps on his hands), turns his head and goes to sleep. Then last night when he started fussing at 10pm, I didn't rush in to nurse him. Surprise surprise, he made it just fine to morning. I actually think he is a pretty good sleeper, we just get inconsistent sometimes and I think his teeth were bothering him with teething. So it is like I was doing everything wrong. I hope it holds up! These babies seem to not like to be too good for too long, LOL.

It does sound like Dustin is on the right track! I don't think Jack is all the way there with self soothing a all, I think he is just tired.

He'll get there, but it sounds like you have a comfortable routine for the both of you.

We cuddle on the couch and he nurses and drinks his bottle off and on and then falls asleep. I put him in his crib. If he wakes up I tried to pat his back or just hold him for a bit and see if he goes back to sleep.. if not I give him some more bottle (I'm trying to stop nursing haha) and he does a few sucks and is back to sleep.

That sounds so adorable about him sleeping on his hands! I want to see a picture but I know I would be nervous to take a pic of Dustin once he's finally asleep! haha.

I should get a picture! His daddy did it too when he was little. Jack is so much like his dad, it is uncanny

Now wait a minute, what about MY crappy sleeper! He is still waking up 3-4 times a night. So poo on you and all your newly improved sleepers!

Seriously that is good your guys are sleeping better though I am jealous. I don't have hopes of things improving here now b/c Matthew has a bit of a cold and is congested/snotty nosed.

Dustin is only a few months older than Matthew so maybe there is hope for me yet in the near future.

Well, Jack still barely crawls, so I suppose there is always something!

I hope he improves after his cold Shannon. I think Matthew is just very active, and doesn't have time to sleep! He wants to take over the world instead, lol
