Who does or plans on doing extended rear facing with the convertable carseat? When do you plan on turning to front facing?

I will rear face past 12 months, but I don't know when I will turn it. I'm just going to see how it goes. So far he seems comfy RFing so I'll keep him that way for now.

I plan on rear facing as long as his long legs allow us. His feet already touch the back seat in his infant seat (8 month old in 12 month pants!). So we'll see what happens when he goes into his convertible.

Im planning on ERF with Isabelle, Ill turn her when she is flat out uncomfortable. If shes small like Morgan, then she wont have a problem till shes 2.
Questions - if you have captains chairs, can you recline the seat to give more leg room?

We didnt' with Seamus. Our seats were alittle different 3yrs ago when he was 1(well almost), his convertable only RF till 20lbs and he was just over 20lbs at 1yr so he went forward. Hes almost 4yrs old now and 46lbs and just over 3½ft tall so he can't RF anyway anymore (plus the Natalius doesn't RF)
Kieran on the other hand has a newer carseat(like I said they've changed some), the My Ride 65 and it RF's to 40lbs, shes only 18lbs and will be 1 in 2weeks, and we aren't planning on flippinger any time yet. Heck when we use dh's car (which will be most the summer cause of gas prices) she's still in her infant carrier since it goes to 22lbs so she'll be in that for a while. I'm not sure how long she will RF but I dont think till 40lbs, we'll see how it goes.

We will rear facing for as long as she fits in the seat that way, weight and height wise.

Kennedi will RF until the weight and height requirements of the SEAT are met. We have a My Ride 65! Shes a little peanut so I dont see it being too uncomfy for her either.

Drake will stay rear facing until two years. I don't care that his legs touch or look uncomfortable. I'd rather have his femur snapped in two than his cervical spine.

I have no idea LOL To be honest while we are overseas London will not even be in a carseat most the time. So I'm not sure how when we are in the states he would like RFing. I will try to put him that way for as long as he is fine with it.
We started with a convertible seat from day one so I think he has alot of time left in it! LOL

I'll leave Nora RF as long as she'll have it...her seat goes RF till like 35 pounds or something and Harrison isn't even 35 pounds at 4 - she may not stand it long what with her brother sitting forward....Harrison was back there by himself and wasn't having it - he wanted to see me and stuff I guess...he was just weirded out being backward so he didn't go long past 12 months. I really want the safety of RF but I also can't stand hysteria when in the car...Harrison was also a car puker ie car sickness and crying would get him coughing and that would trigger the puking...it wasn't worth it!

We don't have plans to switch her to FF yet... but her feet are touching ... but not bad... but I like what Nikki said DH brakes alot, and her poor neck would hurt... so we will stay RF

Cambria's still RF! I move her FF once for a few days cause It was over 100 degrees here. This was last summer though. She wasn't getting any air and sweating to death! I felt so bad. As soon as It cooled down a little we turned her back. My goal was 18 months. Now my goal Is 2 years. Just like last summer thats probably when I will change her FF again. But I also dont see myslef getting out to much with 2 kid's so I may extend through summer. Her legs touch and she kicks away but I would rather have her break her legs then her spine If something were to happen!

We will probably turn him around at 9-12 months, whenever he outgrows his infant seat. All 'convertibles' here are forward facing (these seats start at 20 lbs).

Oliver RF until 18 months so we just turned him around. My plan was to go longer. I wanted to make it to 2 or maybe even 3 years old. I took his carseat out to clean and then I decided to turn it FF. I feel kind of bad because he isn't as safe this way but I like being able to see him and him see me. I might switch it back but most likely not.

I switched Amara after 1 year when I moved her into her convertible seat. I wanted to go until 2 years but the car seat I have was not working well RR with my SUV.

I do and will until he is 2. He has plenty of leg room even though his legs touch the seat, he kinda sits Indian style so he is pretty comfortable.
