Sorry for the delay, my in-laws were here this weekend so our laptop was put away.
Man, his hair is absolutely out of control! We actually had to trim just a tad that was growing over his ears and down his neck this weekend, but nothing off the top. My MIL really wanted to, but I wouldn't let her. lol. Oh, have I mentioned he has a giant bald spot on the back of his head? Poor little guy.
Xander is almost 5 1/2 months old already! I am in shock that he is almost 6 months old! I'm really excited to start solids, too. The little guy REALLY needs it! He's so tiny!! I'm going to start with avocado and then make him eat a little avocado most days in addition to the other veggies/fruits/etc. (given he doesn't totally hate it and refuse) It's really high calorie compared to stuff like green beans, so I think it'll do him some good. He's about 85-90% breastfed, but we do give him 4-6 oz of formula per day mixed with BM in a few bottles now. He fell off the growth charts and I couldn't get my milk supply up any more, even with tons of pumping and nursing and prescription drugs and Fenugreek, and he needed just a little bit more... I was upset about it at first, but I'm over it now. It's so little and it is just enough to get him gaining again. I didn't like that his little ribs were showing, so it was something that had to be done. The *plan* is to stop giving him the extra formula once he starts eating solids. I'm actually pretty amazed to still be breastfeeding. We've had sooooooooo many hurdles since he was born and sometimes I look back at all of that and can't believe I stayed the course. Just goes to show how stubborn I am! hahaha. I have no doubt we'll make it to a year and beyond at this point. He has rolled over from both tummy to back and back to tummy, but he doesn't do it regularly. I try to work with him on it, but he could care less. He just like to roll onto his side and reach for stuff. He "talks" all the time and laughs a lot, especially when daddy is playing with him. What is it with daddy's? He'll laugh for me, but never so loud. I'm not as rough with him, though, so that's probably why. But when he's upset all he wants is me, so I guess I don't totally suck.
We took a ton of pictures in the last week, but they're still on the camera. I'll get them off today and post them later on. For now I need to go since I'm done pumping and someone decided to take a ginormous dump. Yay!
