So Cambria has a cold....She never gets sick! But it's my fault. I had a sore throat so I know I gave it to her. She really doesn't want to eat anything cause she can't swallow it. I dont blame her but I have to get her to eat something! She had some Yogurt for breakfast and her Milk. Lunch was chicken noodles soup which she only ate a few bites of so I gave her mac and cheese and she ate a few more bites but gaged on it cause it was hard to swallow. She did drink her milk then and has had half a sippy with Water in it. Soooo ANy Ideas on what I can "Try" for dinner? Her temp is 98.3 and I gave her some motrin. But of course my crazy kid is STILL awake!!! Drugs wont even get her to sleep! If drugs dont work then heck she must really hate to sleep! I can't give her any more Motrin till 6pm and thats her dinner time anyway's. So any Ideas on what soft stuff to try for food???

I'm going nuts over at my house because Oliver has not eaten much the past few days. I thought he was sick but now I think it's his teeth. He has two or three molars coming in and an eye tooth. He won't eat anything! He doesn't drink anything but breast milk straight from the tap either. Sorry to take over your post but I'm going through it too.
I know she is picky but how about mashing some veggies in with potatoes? I tried that tonight but he wouldn't eat it. I sometimes make mashed potatoes and then make creamed peas with carrots or just peas. I put the creamed peas on top of the potatoes. Cottage cheese? Smoothie? Scrambled eggs? Oatmeal?

I want to know what the heck I'm suppose to do when he keeps telling me he is hungry but won't eat ANYTHING I have to offer him? This is a daily thing at our house. I feel like I'm starving him. Or that he think I won't feed him but I try all day long.

Hopefully she will keep taking a few bites here and there but I think it's most important that she gets a lot of fluids. If she really doesn't want to eat and her fluid intake decreases, you could try Pedialyte.

Resi your not taking over I know Oliver Is sick/Teething to so were in the same boat. Unfortunetly she hates Mashed Potato's! I think it's the texture. It might remind her of baby food to much. I can usually get in 1 bite and then she realizes what it is. Im gonna try and make her split pea soup. She ate it once before so manye she'll like it again. I might make some peas too, cause she loves though's! I swear she's gonna turn green!!! Oh and Applesauce is another one of her foods she hates! Eggs she's not a fan of either and I think they might make her gag. She's had a few bites of strawberries today that were small and really soft. But she is drinking and has plenty of wet and dirty diaper's. Resi can you ask your Peid about Oliver's bad eating? Is he ok on his weight?

I was going to suggest pea soup but I thought it might be too much like baby food. You can make it real simple by just doing broth, frozen peas, and sauteed onions. Then blend it.
I always talk to his pedi about his eating or weight gain and she is always okay with it. He is about 22 lbs and 31" tall. I'm going to ask her if she thinks it's okay again this Monday. The thing is I can't force him to eat or drink. I'm thankfull for BF because at least I know he is getting something from that. He never is interested in a sippy cup. He might take a few sips per day from my glass or his sippy and that is it. I'm guessing it's because he gets his liquids from BF but I'm going to ask if that is okay too. I think it is but it would be good if he drank more water.

Hun I wouldn't worry about the food ... as long as she drinking her milk and keeping the fluids up she'll be fine .. chloe has just got over a bug/virus and hardly ate a thing for 3 days ... I upped her bottles as thats all she wanted so she had a 4 5/6 ounce bottles in a day and she managed a yogurt for lunch and about 3/4 spoonfulls of mash for her tea ... if you think about it the last thing we wanna do when ill is eat x

I've been through it a lot w/ Abby. I usually can't get much into her except maybe liquids (and she will only take water or milk, she doesn't like juice or pedialyte). As long as she is getting fluids, she'll be okay.
(((HUGS))), I know it is hard and frustrating!

Have you tried a packet of oatmeal? Use just enough hot water to cook the oats and then use breastmilk or formula to get it to a more liquefied state that will be easier for her to eat.

No advice but I hope she feels better soon. it's so hard to have a sick baby and I'm sure the picky eating makes it worse!
