For those of you who use disposable diapers, how much do you spend a week on diapers?

It depends a lot on what age the baby is, what brand you use, and what size the baby is in. If you go to diapers.com you can click on any of the diapers and it will tell you how much each diaper costs in a pack. For example, Pampers Swaddlers (probably the most expensive diaper) costs 17-19 cents each- obviously the bigger the case you buy, the cheaper each diaper is. Pampers Swaddlers Dry Max Diapers - Extra Large Case - Buy at Diapers.com - Fast Free Shipping

In the very beginning, you will change TONS of diapers. The newborn class I took said to expect 8-10 diaper changes per day at first. Jaxon pooped with every diaper so we probably used the 10. But that tapers off a bit as they get older, poop less often, and when you stop changing diapers overnight. As a 5 month old, we probably go through approximately 6 diapers per day (sometimes more).

Other brands are cheaper though. I have heard a lot of girls in my PR really like the Target brand.

I've been buying the Target brand and love them! That is the only thing I have to add to the above.

Well I think I only have 1 in diapers because Taylor just potty trained herself in less than 24 hours LoL! Anyway, if we're just talking Rylie we buy 1 pack every 9-12 days or so. Now when she was a newborn we bought a pack a week.

I am just wondering because there is a cloth diapering service here for $19 a week. They provide the diapers, the wet bags, delivery pick up and washing.

we usually buy huggies, and for the bigger kids (2-3 yr olds) they last about a week cuz there are less in the package as the smaller sizes. When the baby is newborn, expect to go through a bag of diapers probably every 3 days!!

I don't now because if I saw the $ we were spending I'd probably be using my cloth. haha. But I wil say that we were using pampers swaddlers b/c that's what they used in the hospital and DH is apparently very brand loyal when it comes to diapers, haha. but we heard great things about the target brand ones and bought those and they're great too.

I think we used Pampers with Gem. They were pretty expensive and I am going to say that I think we went through 2 packs-ish a week. She had horrible diaper rash in sposies so we ended up going through a lot of diaper rash cream, wipes, lotions, powders, etc too. $19 a week definitely is not bad!

For me, choosing to cloth had very little to do with money and more to do with what was better for my kids and the environment.

When Lily was in disposables before we switched, we went to Sam's and bought a huge pack of diapers for $35 every two weeks. That's only $3 less than your $19/week diaper service but I think the benefits of cloth far outweigh any savings you might have with buying disposables. Plus, if you ended up buying your own cloth diapers in the future, then it's definitely a win-win because you will save so much money over buying disposables.
