I'm starting to look at baby stuff. I went to baby depot the other day. I love their store because they just lay all the carseats and strollers out on the floor, and there's no sales person stalking you. Just a lady at a desk you can talk to if you want anything.
I played with a bunch of strollers and carseats and was really impressed with the Chicco Cortina Travel system. I could actually figure out how to work everything. It was really easy to remove the carseat from the stroller, and to fold the stroller up etc.
Did any of you use this carseat/combo? If you didn't, what carseat/stroller did you use, and would you buy it again?

I bought a Peg Perego infant carseat that cost way too much. If I could do it over again I would have bought a Graco or something that didn't cost so much. I got one of those snap and go frames that the infant seat sits in. Here is a link: Amazon.com: Baby Trend Single Snap N' Go Stroller: Baby. I really liked this with the infant seat because it was light weight and didn't take up much room. I heard that the travel systems take up a lot of room and are heavy. Once Oliver outgrew the infant seat I bought a big stoller/pram. I also just bought a light weight Maclaren stroller.

Ya I agree with Resi. I was really wanting to get a new carseat for Dustin and then itching to do so with new baby but ours doesn't expire until dec next year and it really seems like a waste to buy something new and "better" when this one does the job. We are having to buy the boys new carseats and these ones will last a long time and I think I want to put my money towards their toddler and up seat then their infant one. if that makes sense. So getting one that's affordable and not spending lots of money on something that is expensive etc when you can do that AFTER in their next stage carseat which will last longer.
So we have an evenflo embrace and it does the job

I was considering a snap n' go. I saw a man pushing his twins around my neighborhood in their carseats on the twin version. Something to think about.

If I had more $$ we would have gotten the Chicco Isabelle combo (its all pink with black trim) I LOVED the way it folded up and the way it worked!!

I have a graco travel system for Mia. I love the way the system pushes etc the only downside is that its way too big and takes up all our boot space. If i had some my research I would have got a smaller chassed buggy.
However, I loved the infant seat. It was light weight and it was easy to get in and out of the car with or without the car seat base x

We picked Graco since the car seat was ranked #1 in infant seats by consumer reports. I got the travel system and to be honest, I probably should have just bought the car seat. I used my snap and go frame more then the actual stroller that came with the system (I've used it ONCE) because it's a) smaller b) lighter c) easier to fit in my car.
We have the base for the car seat just as an added measure of protection for J.J. It's so easy to just put the car seat on it and go. No fiddling with a seat belt to make sure its angled right while looking at the angle indicator.
Chicco is considered Consumer reports Best Buy and is also on the list of top car seats :-)

I have just the stroller (it's made for the car seat as well but was gifted just the stroller) and it's THE BOMB!!!!!! It's alittle big but oh so nice. It folds unfolds super easy with one hand and tons of storage underneath. And the handle is adjustable for anyone's height. If you have the money, you won't regret the stroller.

We use Graco and it's always worked fine. Once Taylor hit about 1.5 we just used an umbrella stroller for her and I would wear Rylie. When I'm going somewhere alone with them I use a double stroller that's also Graco and I love it. The umbrella stroller were cheap $15 things from Wal Mart LoL.

I have a Graco Snugride and BOB Revolution stroller. The BOB has a infant seat adapter so the car seat can snap right in. I LOVE the BOB. It is a jog stroller but oh so much more. I can manuever it with one hand and it turns on a dime. Plus I can run with it and it is so much easier to push on other surfaces besides pavement (we have a lot of cobblestone roads here). Even if I didn't run I would get it. It is just such a great sturdy stroller. Not the smallest, but works fine in the mall. It fits no problem in my Corolla.

I love my Combi travel system (Combi Shuttle carseat and Combi Cosmo stroller) and it's so nice and light! Steers well, opens easy. I get compliments everywhere I go.
nak, I can write more later if anyone is interested in knowing more.

I used the Chicco Keyfit but opted not for the travel system because I find them too bulky for me. We did get a universal stroller carrier by Kolcraft but hardly used it. I bought the Kolcraft Umbrella stroller which we used from 6 months and that worked very well.

That is the one we got! We almost got a Graco, but the reviews on the particular model I was looking at (don't remember which one) said it was not breathable and it got very hot for baby, which was a real problem for me down here in Texas. Obviously I don't have any experience to share yet, but while I was looking at the Chicco one several people passed me with their baby in tow and told me how much they loved theirs. It seemed to have the easiest method of folding up, and I really didn't like the way that the you recline the stroller seat in the others (with the pull tabs instead of just a lever). And the carseat base seemed very straightforward to me compared to the others.

Thanks for all the opinions and good info. I think I really ahve my heart set on the Chicco. Only problem, is the model that i like is not sold in any of the big box stores where you can make registries. They sell the model that goes up to 22lbs, but i want the seat that goes up to 30.

If you are on a budget, my advice would be to save up to get the things you are going to use the longest. ie. convertible carseat and umbrella stroller. Infant seats don't last all that long, and from what I hear travel systems aren't used very long either.
I have a Maxi Cosi infant seat, with no travel system or snap n' go. I got a Jeep jogging stroller that we used from the beginning. The manual says no jogging until baby can hold up its head, but it has a good recline and is fine for walking around even a new baby. Like Erin said, its great for any place that does not have absolutely flat pavement. We also got a Maclaren Quest Sport umbrella stroller. It was spendy but worth it. Babies can go in most umbrella strollers starting at 3 months old.
