I was trying to decide what to spend my franklin goose credits on and was thinking of getting the Kozy carrier. Does anyone have this? I haven't heard much about this specific brand. WDYT?
Kozy Carrier Countryside - Franklin Goose
Also, on today's woot is the infantino (they just had the big sling recall) tie & wrap carrier for $17.99. So I was thinking about maybe getting that one instead (hugeee price difference, lol)
Kids.Woot : One Day, You?ll Understand (SM)
In reviews I guess both of these are mei tai style carriers. So my question is, how much does brand make a difference? Should I just go for the super cheap one on woot and spend my FG credits on something else?
HELP!

I will personally never risk buying an infantino ever again. I had one with Gem and I thought as soon as I put her in it that it looked like she was going to suffocate. I took her out and never used it again. All the recent recalls just confirmed my distrust of their products.
I would go over to the babywearing board and ask this question!

Ok, I was wrong! Blame it on the preggo brain! I must have found baby wearing talk somewhere else and just thought it was JM!
What do the reviews say on the products?

Maybe you're thinking of the babywearing board on DS? From the reviews on woot.com for the infantino people are just complaining about not wanting to give $ to this company b/c 1. they 'stole' the idea for the product (c'mon...) and 2. b/c of the deal with their other carrier. I'm not really sold on those two points as reasons to NOT own this one... I just want to know how the actual product is, but I guess its relatively new. I just want to know if a mei tai is a mei tai is a mei tai, or if the 'brand' really makes that much of a difference. Like, my home made moby is just as great as my brand named moby, kwim? So I don't want to spend like $80 of free money on the Kozy when I could spend $22 on this one if they're basically the same.

A mei tai is a mei tai is a mei tai is not really an accurate statement. Sure, your homemade wrap may be just as good as a Moby but there's not a lot there to go wrong, know what I mean? It's an eight foot piece of stretchy fabric, haha. However, mei tais have straps and padding to aid with comfort and weight distribution and the quality of those items can make a BIG difference. I had a cheap mei tai that I thought was great until I bought my Babyhawk and realized how much greater it could be - so much more comfortable!
I say get the Kozy Carrier - they are well known for their comfort and ease of use and I think the price difference will be well worth it.
OR you could just keep using your Moby for another month or so and then buy my totally awesome Babyhawk for mega cheap.

haha I was specifically waiting for YOU to reply b/c I knew you'd have a good response, lol. I was leaning more towards the Kozy b/c the only other thing I really 'want' from FG anyway is the Sophie the Giraffe and that's just b/c I want to know what the fuss is all about... but then I'd have a lot more $ leftover I'd have to spend on random stuff. I don't have any plans on stopping using the moby any time soon, I just love babywearing and want to try different stuff too.

i bought the one from woot. looked like a good deal, and not a horrible waste of money if its not that great. I heard this was the new replacement for the carrier that got recalled. And they went crazy checking this one for safety. I believe it will be safe... but as kate said. Might not be as good of quality.

With carriers I find you get what you pay for! The cheaper one looks like horrible padding.
Oh and the sophie toy---london LOVES his. But could I explain the hype---NOPE it feels like a cheap dog toy! i was not happy when I got it because I thought it was so cheap. But then I gave it to london and its the toy he will NOT share and he will get mad if you take it away! I can't explain it either.
