Well, the good news is that my little guy has been exclusively breast milk fed via EP'ing for 6 months on Saturday!!! And that was my goal. I know it seems a little silly to celebrate 6 months when there are ladies on here going past 18 months, but I am still pretty proud.

So just when I decide to carry on a month or so longer, my supply has completely tanked. Don't know why as everything is the same. I am also on CD 18 so its not AF. It has been slowly going down for the past couple weeks. I knew I was in trouble when Jax sttn last night (only the second time) and I woke up in the AM not even engorged a bit. I had to supplement him for the first time today with 3 oz formula, which is took without even a blink of an eye.

Not sure what the purpose of this post is. I just felt like 'chatting'. I was planning on weaning around this time anyway. I just wish it could be my decision instead of my boobs!! I will see what happen in the coming days.

I think your awesome Jessie! Pumping is not easy and you did it for 6 months!!! That is definitely something to celebrate!

Sorry about your supply I have a friend that happened to at 6 months also. What formula are you giving him?

YES be proud! And don't be down that your having to wean....Jaxon sounds like he's doing wonderful and that is all that matters. My supply wasn't great from the beginning with both kids...I did my best but that is the reason I didn't BF very long....my kids also transitioned without a care to bottles/formula and we had no problems with any of it...so I didn't feel bad at all. I was like excited to get to 8 weeks or whatever with Nora...so you did awesome!

Yay for 6 months!! I think the first 6 is harder then when they are older. Atleast that's how it is for me. I was super proud to hit 6 months!!

You can always do both formula and BM. If that's what you want. You never know what those boobies will do! haha. Maybe they will pick up.

Yea, the boobs are very opinionated!

Thanks everyone. When I first started out, 6 months felt like having to climb Mt Everest!!

Keri, 8 weeks is awesome. I know it sounds weird, but I wonder if I would have made it so long if I had actually been bf'ing. Sometimes I think it might have been longer, sometimes shorter.

Angela, I have to check to see what I gave him. I bought it awhile ago before I went to the states. I think its Nestle. The sensitive one, but I will try to do just regular formula because that sensitive stuff is like 3 euros more expensive than the regular.

That's awesome, WTG! I made it 5 months with Rylie until I too couldn't keep up with the demand. It also got really embarrassing when she tried to nurse on EVERYONE LoL!!! Everyone I was around only FF so that was a new experience for them, hehe. So, I switched her to a bottle and she never looked back

WTG! 6 months of EP'ing is a huge milestone! It takes a lot of time and dedication to keep the pumping up. You gave him a great gift and you should feel very proud!

That's amazing!! WTG on making it 6 months! I only pump half the time and it is freakin' HARD! So you should be very proud of yourself for doing it all the way!

6 Month of EPing is HUGE! don't down play that for a second. I don't know If I could have done a pump that long. CONGRATS!!!!!
My supply did funny things when we hit 6 months also---took about 3 weeks to go back to normal. And I have been warned at 9 months it usually does it again.

Way to go mama! 6 months is a huge milestone, especially for someone who is solely pumping! that's a ton of hard work and determination! Be proud! Glad he took the formula with no issues too so hopefully your weaning won't be a pita! congrats on reaching your goal! that's awesome!

6 months is huge!!! I hope to make it to 8 months.

I wonder why your body started to let down right around your milestone mark.

Horay for six months!! That is awesome Jessie! You should be proud.

Your body must listen well... you told it six months and it took orders! I hate to be that person that says "Well at least..." but does that mean you won't have to go through the pain/engorgement of just deciding to stop? I don't know if that is how it actually works, so ignore me if I'm way off here.

6 months of EPing is a HUGE accomplishment as far as I am concerned! I only breastfed for 3 months exclusively, and then could not stand having to pump at work, and my supply dropped dramatically in only 1 week, so I stopped and went to formula at the 3 month mark. Pumping is a ton of work, and you gave him 6 months of breastmilk which is excellent!
