He's about a week shy of 6 months, but we were all ready to start. Xander has been mimicking us chewing whenever we eat and has been incredibly interested in food this last week... So we bit the bullet and gave the little guy some avocado this morning and he LOVED it! He opened his mouth for more and reached out for the spoon! I am shocked, I figured he'd spit it out or something, but he was definitely ready for some real food. We plan on giving him avocado (mixed with breastmilk) for the next 3 days and then we'll give him some sweet potato. Not sure after that, depends on what looks good at the store.

Anyway, now for what you're all interested in... PICTURES!

If you want to let him feed himself avocado here is a trick I learned. Because they are so slimmy try putting cheerio crumbles on them! That makes them less slimmy and he should be able to pick up the slices easier! (I know some people use wheat germ and flax seed also).

Ahh, he is so cute loving his avocado! I have been doing the same thing, just buying whatever looks freshest at the grocery store. I've been wanting to try avocado, but the last couple times they were bad on the inside Jaxon's favorites so far are sweet potato, pear and mango.
