I am on day 6 of the prometrium, and while Im crampy, no bleeding yet...BOO!!!!! My RE managed to get me 300 units of the Follistim for free, which will save us so much money!! The pharmacy where I am getting it from called me yesterday to confirm my prescription, and informed me that my insurance covers all my meds at 50%. I didn't think it covered anything, so this was really awesome to hear!! So the Follistim and Ovidrel will be here monday!!
I got a consent letter from my RE that I have to sign before we do the IUI, and it scared the crap out of me. It talked all about our chances of multiples(30% chance) and all the risks of a multiple pregnancy!! while twins I am not scared of and triplets frightens me some, 4 or more babies almost makes me sick to my stomach. Then there was the section about mulitfetal reduction. DH and I need to make a choice before our IUI whether this is an option for us. Basically, if I end up pregnant with more than the desired amount of babies, do we terminate a couple of the fetuses. Im torn, although it is basically an abortion, and I am totally against that, what would I do if I got pregnant with 6 babies.....I am leaning towards saying no, but I am scared of what this cycle will bring. I dont' think I could terminate a baby though..... I couldn't live with myself.
So that is my update for now, I will let you all know when the fun stuff starts!!!
Update.....
I just researched multifetal reduction and that is NOT an option for us!!! It is a terrible procedure that has to be done at week 12....no way could I do that....not an option at all!!

I am so happy to hear that you got some of the meds free and that your insurance helps out too! That rocks!
I feel for you on the reduction thing. Personally I couldn't abort some of them either, but I have heard both sides of the debate and its so hard. Its not that you wouldn't want that many babies, its just that reducing them makes the survival rate for the others so much better. It's like reducing the risk of having 4 special needs kids by having only two and them losing out on brothers/sisters. It is SUCH a tough spot and I really pray for you that this is successful and that you only get one or two little ones and are never put in that position!

i'm so excited for you morgan!! and how amazing that you were able to save all that money on it, what a relief. i can understand not being able to reduce, it sounds scary. but i havent really heard much about the pros/cons other than what shannon was saying in a pp but it seems like a tough decision.
hopefully you get one or two like you want though!

I'm so excited for you Morgan! And extra insurance coverage is awesome. Hopefully you only end up with however many babies you think you can handle at once.

Thankfully you will be monitored, and hopefully they won't trigger if there is even a chance at multiples (>2 I mean). My RE told me we would never trigger if there were a certain amount of follies pretty ripe close to trigger, b/c then they could all mature and then you get a TV show, a divorce, and end up on dancing with the stars!
So exciting though! I am sending AF vibes as well as reasonable follie vibes! Come on twinsies!!

That is awesome about the insurance and free meds!
I don't think I could reduce either. It has to be such a tough decision.
I hope you get one or at most two little sticky babies! And Michelle is right, you will be monitored and if they think you have too many follies they will tell you not to trigger and tell you not to BD!

While 6 babies would scare the poo out of me too, Im glad you did some research and decided against it. I cant wait to see what the IUI brings you!
