Sorry about leaving you guys hanging. I wasnt sure if it was the real thing, then I was sure, then I wasnt, then I was just confused. I was going to text Beth (my POC) but then I realized I forgot to x-post the post here so I figured that I'd wait until it was confirmed that I was in labor. Yeah my mind was all over the place.

So all yesterday I was having back aches. In the evening I felt like I was about to start my period, except the pain didnt come and go, it kind of stayed. When I use the bathroom to do #2 or attempt to at least... sometimes i poop and have diarrhea sometimes I dont, it intensified. I had slight gas but even after I poot (haha poot sounds funny), the pain still stayed.

Before I went to bed, I went to the bathroom I pricked an EPO and inserted it and when I took my finger out, there was some blood on it. I decided to try to go to sleep to see if it went away.

Woke up around 4:30ish with the same cramps except sometimes it was there and sometimes it wasnt. It was about 10-15 mins apart and in my lower back and stomach (period cramps) but nothing too unbearable except as usual, sitting on the toilet intensified the pain. Drank some water b/c I read that if its false, doing things like shifting positions and drinking water will make it go away.

Went back to sleep b/c I was still tired. Woke up at 6:20, 6:40, 7, 7:19 and 7:42 to the same pains. I had a doc appt scheduled for 11:30am so I figured I'd know if it was the real deal there.

Needless to say, Lani is not here yet she wants to be a stubborn Taurus like her aunt, cousin and grandpa. I'm bummed but all in due time (I pray before Friday) she'll be here.

1st they gave me the NST. Lani was knocked the hell out during the NST. I knew she was fine b/c she was just moving not too long before the appt. The buzzer woke her up but only for a like 5 seconds and then she was knocked out again. I had NO CONTRACTIONS during the NST (***), felt no back pain, felt nothing!

Then the nurse checked me, I was NOT dilated but I was about 80-90% effaced and soft. She felt her head and decided to stretch me to a 1. I told her about the bleeding and she said that its probably b/c her head is really low and.

So they had to send me over to the hospital (right beside the office) to get a longer NST. It went well. She was up then as my mom was feeding me ice chips and I ate some peanuts on the walk over. While at the NST I still got NO CONTRACTIONS (***!!!). When I got to the hospital I went to the bathroom and when I wiped, there was my mucus plug. It was a big glob of snot covered in old brown blood. No mistaking that that was my plug. Shortly there after I started getting contractions in my back but it didnt pick up on the NST machine. They had the contraction monitor strapped to the top part of my stomach where her feet were. So I have NO IDEA what this back labor/cramps/pains mean. I'm still having back labor. And sitting on the toilet is PURE TORTURE! I called the doc office and they said to call when it gets 10 mins apart and 1 min long and that normally even in back contractions, it picks up on the NST but they're NST machine isnt great for picking up small contractions.

I was bummed so as soon as I got home, Will and I went for a walk which was kinda painful as I was still having back labor (about every 10 mins) and my hips HURT. And my mom fixed me a nice bubble bath, that was very relaxing.

We set an induction date for Friday but the nurse did say that there's a good possibility that I could go before then although she wanted to schedule it for next Monday (My mom leaves on Sunday so I'd rather just go thru with it while she's here).

Thanks for reading if you made it this far!!!

I definitely think you're in early labor. I bet Lani is here within 48 hours!

I agree with Sara! Your symptoms sound SO much like what I guess was my version of early labor, and if I had been checked at my 40 week appt, I probably would have been mostly effaced and not dilated. Then.......not even 12 hours later, Logan arrived!!

Aw I'm sorry she's still not here yet and you're uncomfortable! It sounds like things are starting up so I imagine that induction appt on Friday will be unnecessary! If I'm not mistaken, (someone correct me if I'm wrong) baths can slow down labor... so you might not want to do that. I could be totally wrong, I just feel like I remember hearing/reading that bathing during the early stages of labor can slow things down.

Stubborn Miss Lani! I think she will come before Friday too, though. Believe it or not I thought about you at 3:00am this morning. I woke up to pee and thought "Oh! I didn't log into JM yesterday, I wonder if Chelle had her baby!" as I stumbled back to bed in my groggy sleep-walk state.

Awww crap Shannon lol. I took the bath already. The pain is steady coming and going though.

Thanks ladies!!! I surely do hope that she comes tomorrow!!!! Stupid back labor!!! Sucks!!!

I think that Lani is sunny side up hence all of the back labor now that I've been reading up on it. I'm going to call the doc tomorrow to see if they can get me an u/s in just to double check if she is and to see what they can do about it.

YES your right - which is why midwifes dont like you to get into the birthing tub till your an active 4 cm dilated. Showers are OK, but baths can slow down labor! Good eye Shannon
