Hi girls!!! I'm confused......I started spotting today and have had major cramps! I'm still only BFing Lyla and pumping while at work. She only gets two bottles a day and then BFeds when she is with me. Is this bad? Will this start to affect my supply? Is there anything I can do?

I think the only reason it would affect your supply is if you got knocked up again!

I don't think it should affect your supply... just means your fertility is back! I think if you're going longer between feeds/pumping its normal for AF to come back... and the less feeding/pumping can cause your supply to decrease on its own, but I don't think its AF that causes your supply to drop, kwim?

thanks girls- I'm trying not to worry about it. I saw a slight dip in my supply this weekend but it seemed to be back up today....hopefully it doesn't affect it to much.

Ya Shouldn't affect your supply. Mine with Seamus came back at 6.5weeks PP and he was solely bf(though I was pumping a couple times a day to prepare for the night we were going on our honeymoon)
With Kieran I "thought" it came back at 8weeks but I turned out to be wrong and it was majorly something else. Came back just before 10mo and she had just started solids only the month before.

Well I may be the odd one out but it does affect my supply. I usualy could tell when AF was coming cause there was a bit of a dip. But it always came back!
I got my AF right on "schedule". About 4 weeks after stopping the birth bleeding.

I got AF back at 4.5 mo pp too. Yes,it does affect my supply but it tends to rebound again on its own. The good news is my cycles are pretty wacky and I've only had 2 AF's between then and now.

I think it's pretty normal. I can't really remember, but I think I got my first PP AF around 7 months ??? I don't recall it directly affecting my supply.
Boooo to AF!

AF started for me (2 months after birth) even though I was breastfeeding. I didn't find that it affected my supply but I've heard of ladies who were affected a bit by it.

I haven't gotten it yet and I pray it doesn't affect my supply since I already have to work so freakin' hard for what I do get! lol. This thread has given me hope that it'll be okay, though.

I got my first AF when Oliver was 9 months old. He was eating solids by that time. Him eating solids and my AF didn't really effect my supply. I remember pumping a little bit less around AF but that was it. I wouldn't worry about it.

I got mine back when Lochy was 13 1/2 months old (never got an af after Liam). I did notice a dip in supply around af times but it always came back up.
And just because you're getting AF doesn't necessarily mean you're ovulating too. A lot of times the first couple cycles are anovulatory. That was never the case for me though and you might get nipple soreness around ovulation and AF, that was always the worst part for me.
