I really want to wear my baby, but i'm not sure how if my body will cooperate. I'm a very tall person, but i have a VERY short torso. I didn't even think about this before. I was given a babybee sling from honeywear. It might work, but looks very big. I tried on an ERGO at the store, and after atatching the carrier at my waist, the carrier actually came up high enough to cover my face!
Now i have no idea what to look into, or what to buy.
Anyone have any reccomendations?

Maybe the Moby wrap? That basically fits anyone. imo, it's a little hard to use with a million yards of fabric, but I know some people love them.

I have a Moby wrap and a Baby Ktan. They are both similar concept. The Baby Ktan is like a pretied Moby wrap. It comes in different sizes to fit your body. I wear her in it everywhere. It is great to take out in public b/c there is no yards of fabric and wrapping involved.

I do LOVE the moby, but i agree its a lot of fabric, you can always put it on in the house before going places though, i've done that with my nephew.....or else maybe the baby ktan like erin said? I've also heard from a mama friend of mine that ring slings are really great.

Are there any stores that would allow you to try on various ones to help you decide?

the k'tan looks pretty cool. I love that you don't have to tie it.
Unfortunatley there's not a lot of stores that carry a selection. I've only ever seen ergo, moby, and hotslings. I won't use the bjorn, as it's been linked with spine problems in children (baby supporting all weight on the crotch)

I forgot to mention that i bought the infantino wrap and tie (basically a mei tei).
I thought it was too big because it too hit me in the face... but i just read the directions and realized i had it on wrong. It's supposed to be tied hanging down, so when you pull the body up, it doubles on itself. I'm stupid
It looks pretty cool now, except for the fact that the ties nearly drag on the floor.

The straps are supposed to wrap around and tie in the front. I think i may cross them in the front, bring them around to the back again, and tie them there. I'm just lazy and don't feel like getting it out again to try lol. but i hope it works for the length.

While Angela was here this weekend she brought an ergo sport & a beco butterfly and when we went down to visit Angela L we had her put them both on so she could try them out and she is TEENIE TINY and so they didn't really go tight enough to give her the right fit. Angela said there is some carrier specifically for petite women -- you'll have to ask her which one it is though But I'm sure there's something out there that will work for you. I love my moby and I think its perfect for newborns and tiny babies who can't support their heads. But I will say that it can be a pain putting it on in public b/c it will hit the ground when you try to get it on and if its wet out or something that sucks -- but I just always put it on at home before I went out and that worked fine.

I always put my Moby on before we leave too - it is super easy that way.
Alice...at some point you, me and Nikki (and the kiddos) need to get together. You can try my babyhawk then if you want.

My friend makes carriers. I'm sure I could find some pics or get her to send me some. She could probably custom make one that would be specific to your size. maybe take some measurements now before everything starts really changing!
I got a Moby and a Maya but I don't know how they will work yet obviously!

I'm pretty small and my ergo works great...I'll have to take a pic next time I've got Nora in it....good luck finding something that will work...I wish I had had this ergo with Harrison I wouldn't have had to lug my stroller everywhere!

I'm looking at the picture of angela wearing her son in her ERGO, and I think that's not what i tried on. I must have been mistaken. It looks smaller than the one i tried.

I have a Mei Tai and I love it.. I also have a Moby, but way to much fabric and time putting it on.. I need something easy.. I did order a BabyHawk Oh Snap.. Should be here on Monday.. I hope A.J can fit in it (recommend for 6 months and up).. But if not I'll put my daughter in it and let you know how it goes.. I love that it's just snap and go..
Here's a video of the front and back carry of the Oh Snap
