Just wanted to get an update! I was wondering how BF'ing and the CD'ing are going? I was also wondering now that you're out and about more how you BF in public or if you're using bottles? I am looking at the Beco carriers like you have but I already got a Moby because I thought it would give me more privacy/coverage for BF'ing in public. Thoughts? Tips now that you're an experienced mama? It seems like you guys have it so together and things are going well! I hope you can pass along your wisdom to some of us mere mortals who aren't so great at keeping it together! Oh, and hi Lily!!!!!

BFing is going great! I've had two clogged ducts and a couple milk blisters and that sucked... but it was after wearing a regular underwire pre-Bfing bra. I still haven't figured out my attire yet. I pretty much jusst always wear nursing tanks... this way they cover my stomach and I can pull up my stop shirt or whatever... but they offer ZERO support so my boobs are like hanging to my belly button. I was actually looking @ the pictures from my trip this weekend and its REALLY sad & saggy. In some of the pictures I hadn't even re-attached the strap thing though so my boob literally is hanging out under my shirt. haha. Whatever.

CDing is going smoothly as well. Washing takes like two seconds and isn't a big deal. Pockets are my favorite, which surprises me b/c I didn't think they would be. We still put her in a sposie as night b/cc I haven't figured out absorbancy stuff yet and Ben always gets her for bed so he normally sticks her in a disposable. But overall its going well. This weekend I brought disposables so I didn't have to worry about dirty cloth and traveling, and I just put diaper covers over them so there'd be some elastic to hold in any possible blow outs and it worked great! I did even have one diaper that could have been a blow out if not for the cover, so I was thankful for that!

I feel like I've been 'out and about' the same amount as when she was teenie tiny. haha. Anyway, I always just BF in public, she's only had 4 (maybe 5 now?) bottles and its always been so DH could feed her or one of the times I was gone. It's such a hassle, I'd much rather whip out a boob. The thing is I'm not so good about being 'discreet' b/c just don't care. If someone wants to see my boob it doesn't bother ME, so I try to be discreet for the sake of other people but that's kind of annoying. Like on the plane I had a nursing cover b/c I figured if someone is so close they're touching me, its the respectful thing to do I guess. (well honestly, I think its stupid, but I know it bothers people so I try to semi-cater to them b/c I'd rather do that than deal with comments about it) But yeah so I had the nursing cover, but I can't see, and she doesn't like it, so I wind up wearing it but still have her head and my boob exposed. At the very least though if someone DOES say something I can be like "What? I'm wearing a nursing cover, GEEZ stop staring" haha. I mean I'm not trying to get people to look, I try to be discreet, but I also just don't care if I flash nipple for like .2 seconds either.

I love love love my moby and think its perfect for the newborn stage, and I imagine I'll still get some good use out of it. Lily has always been really happy, snuggled, and secure in it and it's one of my top mommy recommended items! I never BF'd in it but I have saggy boobs so I have to hold them up for her pretty much. The beco and ergo are pretty similar carriers (I've worn both thanks to Angela and liked both) but the ergo would be easier to BF in than the beco. I still think, especially as the baby gets bigger, you'll want another carrier, and I really appreciate that this has buckles and is easy and fits all shapes/sizes.

It's so great to hear the update as to how those aspects of parenting are going I was wondering the same thing!

That's awesome about the cover helping the disposable to keep in the pooplosion haha.

Thanks Shannon! I am really starting to feel nervous about BF'ing and baby-wearing and all that. I'm sure I will come back to this post a thousand times to remind myself that even the great and awesome Coconut doesn't have it all together all the time. I can't believe Lily is getting so big so fast!
