Actually we had a few today! We took Shane's parents out to dinner and during dinner a mentally handicapped guy came up and started like petting and high-fiving Gem. We were all too stunned to say anything but finally another guy came over and convinced him to leave! 
As if that wasn't akward enough we left dinner to go grocery shopping. When we pulled into the lot at the store Shane realized we were parked across from his ex-wife's father!  We saw him going into the store with a woman and a baby. We got inside and started shopping and of course we ended up in the same aisle with them! Shane and the ex's dad made eye contact so Shane just said "Hi L." I, of course, was too amused at the chance to rub Shane's new life in his ex's face and rushed over to introduce myself. I was like "Hi, I'm Sara" while offering my hand. He shook my hand and I was like, "Who's the little one?" He said it was his step-daughter's kid, offered no name. I was practically giggling at how discomfitted he seemed at this point. Shane stepped in and was like, "Yea this is my new wife and my step-daughter, Gemma, and we have one on the way." The dad was like, "Yea I see that." He inquired after Shane's job and dog and seemed put off when he realized everything is still going well in Shane's life. We parted ways with the normal "take cares" and I practically busted out laughing. Shane isn't quite as amused as I am but I can't help thinking about how uncomfortable Shane's ex must have been when she got that phone call! 
Now I just wish I had taken the time to put on make up this morning!

This is why I love living in a different state than my hubby's ex!
Was Gemma weirded out by the guy petting her and stuff???....or was she like all friendly...Harrison is overly friendly which makes instances like that even worse, cause he actually encourages it HA!

And, yes, Gem is overly friendly and totally had no problem with the guy petting her! She didn't get why we were all creeped out! Stranger danger is just something she does NOT understand no matter how much I talk to her!

I so would have done the same thing
If he was mentally hanicapt he might not of realised what he was doing wasnt that socially acceptable. I can understand why you got a bit freaked out though.
