Well I'm not a single mommy but I was home alone for a bit when Dustin was a few months old due to a funeral James had to attend.

All I can say is don't worry about the little stuff. Just worry about baby. Laundry doesn't have to be put away, dishes don't have to be cleaned right away etc etc. When Johnathan is sleeping relax and focus on you.

Hope that helps a bit You'll do fine!

DH works ALOT especially three months every year during the outage.....so sometimes I feel like a single mommy....hmm how do I handle it...beat my kids into submission...NOOOOOOOOO just kidding. I create a very structured daily routine and the kids are used to it pretty quickly...then its like clockwork. My kids go to bed pretty early and very good...so I have alot of time at night to do whatever I gotta do. But I get everything ready for school/work the night before...then when we get up in the morning its a very structured process until we leave for school/work. I babyproof my bedroom and the kids play in their while I get ready....I guess it helps I have Harrison to make sure Nora doesn't get into things she shouldn't....but then I pick them up from school....I often do dinners in the crock pot ...therefore its pretty much ready when I get home....we eat, we bath, we rock/read.....mommy does a zillion things....we sleep!

You'll do fine!

My DH works tons too. I ditto Keri. Just spend all day meeting the baby's needs and don't worry about much else, then have an early bedtime so you can do housework and showering after baby is in bed and still have a bit of time to yourself.

I'm alone alot with Henry. DH travels all the time. He leaves next for a month. Then half of the rest of the summer. I'm very use to doing everything.

Stay busy, plan a small something everyday. Even if it's just going to the store it gets you out of the house and let's DS see other things. Also if others offer help, don't be afraid to take it!
